@Deal57 what amount of traffic are we talking about? To pass isochronous audio data, as PhracturedBlue mentioned, is probably unfeasible - too much for already multiplexed bus. Short commands - possible. We need more information about the whole setup.

if the lna issue on the 4in1 still existed how far would the telemetry in a hubsan h107 work for?

It shouldn't work at all - insertion loss of the PA/LNA is around 60dB and PA being on adds noise - very short range.

See 4in1 mod(first version)...to be
I'm very busy and have no time to do myself the modification so it is not tested. But I want to help
If somebody could do this mod he can post here. The resistors are not part of this mod (multiprotocol modification)
Cut trace there(pin12 to 3.3V) and connect 11 with 12 multiplexer pins together and write new routine for with CYRF. to change PA/LNA on A7105.

then i can confirm the new 4in1's have the lna issue fixed for the a7105 as i'm receiving voltage telemetry to ~25m, i'll test farther distances tomorrow when it's lighter outside

can you take a high-res image of the board? It doesn't make much sense, as the 4-in-1 boards with the fix shouldn't be available yet as I understand it. but a good pic of the board will identify it (you probably need to take the shield off 1st though). Even without the shield, removed, there should be an extra pin for the nrf connection on the new boards. Or maybe my current information isn't accurate

it's installed in my ult7e now, but it was only purchased direct from the seller about 2 weeks ago, and i'm definitely getting voltage telemetry from my led version h107L, here's the pics i have from during the install

i'm sorry but those are the best i have just now, i can take more tomorrow evening but pulling the shield may prove difficult due to the daughterboard, but i'll give it a bash.

that does indeed appear to be the new board (13 pins on the lower edge of the 4-in-1 module). I wasn't aware they were available yet. I can't confirm either the a7105 or nrf24l01 Rx is functional from the pic, but I guess you can

Which would use less power on a 7e: the Devo version of the 4-in-1 with the original 7e CYRF removed, a fully populated Multi Module with the original 7e CYRF removed or using the original 7e CYRF (with range mod) and a Multi Module with the CC2500, 7105 and NRF installed?

afaik these aren't readily available yet (no listing on taobao or banggood) cmPang kindly sourced this direct from the seller for me. I don't think I have any nrf based craft with telemetry (are there any?) so I can't test that out at the minute but I can test the range to be sure the pa is properly enabled

Why are you concerned with power? is battery life on the 7e really an issue?
The answer is that a 4-in-1 with the 7e removed should use the least power, but that the difference between the 3 options should be quite small. the only significant source of power loss would be parasitics while the module isn't in use (very low) and any power loss through an LDO (which again is quite low when the modules aren't in use). I am not sure what Harry is using for an LDO, but victzh's board will have a standard LM1117 which isn't as efficient as a switching supply, but shouldn't be any worse than what was on the 7e originally.

Edit: I should note that the biggest risk of power loss would be improperly shutting down the modules when not in use which is a software problem rather than hardware.

@victzh

Updated N in 1 would be the difficult part to figure out.

Thanks.

In the 3in1 module, the pin numbers are odd in the top row and even in the bottom row, right to left in both cases, right?

I have no idea what's been used, the devo 4in1 takes 5v, so either the daughterboard or the 4in1 itself has a vreg in it, I'll maybe know more a little later on today when I have a look at opening it up

it doesn't look like i'm going to have time tonight to pull the rf board apart, but is there any nrf protocols that have telemetry enabled in deviation? or that require the receiving of packets to the tx to bind?

Doesn't necessarily need to have telemetry to test, it is enough if it uses ACK for handshake...

CX-10 "blue" PCB protocol has to receive a packet from the aircraft (RX ID) during bind.
