Has anyone figured out the binding process for the X73s with the dsmx receiver and a devo 10?

I've used this tutorial for both CF and BF brushed, but I think the receiver and mode setup applies here too.

Let us know if it works!

Have you tried spektrum_sat_bind=3 and TX set to DSM2, as this quad is NOT DSMX as advertised?

Ok I changed to spectrum = 9, set Devo to dsmx and when I push bind on Devo the receiver light goes from rapid flash to slow flash to steady red light on. I think I'm bound but now it won't arm. I setup my switches on Devo and betaflight to arm, but no luck.

It was the same here, but once I changes to DSM2, it worked for me

The endpoint range for your sticks is important. There are two ways to get to the desired 1000-2000 range. Some have recommended that you use the Devo mixer scale to get as close as you can; try scale of 125. I used the rxrange command that basically normalizes the range:
rxrange 0 1159 1841
assumes that your initial endpoints are 1159 and 1841, as they were on both Devo I tried (and apparently this is also dependent on the receiver) and sets 0 (on DSMX that's channel 1-Throttle) so that CF/BF sees 1000-2000. Be sure to set Motor stop, and min command has to be => 1000.

I left the switch range alone, but set them so Aux1 (Devo channel 5) is disarmed below 1500, armed above, and set up a simple curve on the RUD DR switch.

Flight modes can work basically the same on Aux2, but I split it into three ranges.

I got mine to pair with the dx8 by holding the pair button on the quad board while plugging in the battery. Then i bound it to the dx8 and the led went solid red. the arming issue is because you have to set the range of the arm switch. i did this by connection to cleanflight and adjusting the sliders until they were in teh range of teh switch. I suppose you could also adjust the travel of the gear switch in teh radio until it armed.

No idea how that worked, as there is no bind button on the DSM"X" receiver, only a boot button on the board itself...

the board sends the bind signal to the rx. so hold down the board button while you or someone else plugs teh battery in. the led will flash red and you can bind your tx. when it goes solid, unplug the quad battery and replug it in and it is ready to arm
