The best micro sized quad for Deviation?

Hey guys, I got my fourth micro sized quad last week: the JJRC-1000. I'm happy with it, so much so that I had to come here and highly recommend that you all go out and buy one immediately.

At $13 USD (bnf) you simply can't go wrong with this thing. It's a blast to fly, better then my Hubsan X4 and Syma X11. Due to the price I would even recommend it over the Blade Nano QX - it's that good. So maybe this post saves someone some cash: start with the JJRC 1000 BNF, you'll like it. Due to the price this is quite possibly the king of the Deviation-compatible sized micro quads, you will not get a better bang for the buck anywhere.

I agree with you, It's a blast.
Did you try the Syma X11 paired with DeviationTX? It's a totally different quad than with stock TX!
His pitch, roll and yaw rates are increased a lot with DeviationTX.

The only options with no additional modules would be blade models (but not the pico) or walkera. The Nano QX or the ladybird for example but neither are really nano class (and the walkera is a good amount larger)

And neither are cheap !

Install at least a nrf24l01+ module, it's worth the time and money ! ($5 for a good module with pa+lna at banggood + $0.99 2.4GHz / IPX antenna on ebay !

I ended up ordering two more JJRC-1000s... my original one still flies perfectly, but at 13 bucks why not own a bunch of these... definitely my favorite quad... I no longer fly my Hubsan X4, and even my Nano QX is collecting dust...

Probably the best micro sized - acro (rate mode) firmware supported by silverxxx - quads are (have not flown them):
- Eachine H8 Mini: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2512604
- Floureon H101 3D: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2586923

Looks like the H101 does not use real 3D inverted sticks once flipped but switches the sticks as normal too.
Not really what you like / expect when you train inverted for CP helis.

Have not checked Eachine H8 3D and JJRC H22 3D for stick real 3D / inverted control functionality...

I watched a review of the H22 3D and it had correct throttle stick function. Not that one you buy now will be the same... we all know how these companies are about production differences batch to batch, but I believe it was a quadcopter101 review that showed the rtf transmitters sticks in the video and it was correct like a CP heli.
I've almost added one to the last 10 or so orders I've placed from China shops, it just looks so fun, but then at the time I place the order I change my mind and just'd rather have the 18 bucks.

H8 is my favorite. I have 3, and 8 batteries between them all :) About to try out that acro firmware on one and see how I like it. The white one is better for night missions, but the black one is easier to see during the day imho.

WOW! Where can I read about it and the flashing process?

13 bucks eh? Must resist.,,

Edit found it www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2512604

But then I realized the H22 is the 3D one, the h8 still sounds cool tho. Let buddies experience acro mode when they get cockey after you let them put around in self leveling and they do OK lol.

Check my thread here. www.deviationtx.com/forum/model-configs/...erted-flight-trainer
Its not real 3d, but possible to train inverted flight using a simple trick...

EDIT: Now it IS real 3D B)

Although that is an open source firmware, it is not multiwii-derived.

I still love the JJ-1000 and also all of the H8 variants. I have three JJ-1000's, four H8 mini's, and two H8S 3D mini's. One of the H8 mini's is flashed with silverware and that firmware continues to get better and better.

Best,

I think the best micro quad is currently the design of fishpepper. (simon)
It is full brushless, mini FPV quad wit Frsky rx telemetry and F3 cpu and camera vtx full flying weight inc battery <32gram.
fishpepper.de/projects/pepperf1sh/

And the new 38gram 2s version in development, seems an insane microquad....

Otherwise as cheap office flyer, I would vote for EACHINE H8 + silverware firmware flashed. I find it a much faster and more agile flyer than tiny whoop, Silverware also gives telemetry, such as battery voltage in combination with Deviation Tx. It cost almost nothing.

Been down the micro brushless road ...They are fine if you only want to fly 2 minutes then land change battery..The battery technology is just not there for them currently, if they would focus all the energy in developing better batteries instead of pumping out hundreds and hundreds of different micro brushless models we would all benefit and be more willing to but these tiny brushless models...Personally i had a 64mm brushless Swerlie and only flew it twice and sold it ....it was to fast for indoors and only flew 2 mins tops seemed like soon as i started flying it was time to land ...:(

We need better batteries not more quads...

First, thanks for pointing out the Syma X11. I missed that one - thought I was done buying… maybe when I'm dead.

I have burned (and crashed and lost and broken and &c.) through many copies of the JJR/C 1000A (JJ1000) and the H8 Mini quadcopter.

I just got back from running a bunch o' batts on the H8 Minis, all of which I have placed the Silverxxx acro firmware. I am flying acro almost 100 percent of the time now, but either way I have to say the H8 Mini is hands down my favorite. It is a solid performer, very robust, and quite cheerful and peppy. It's as small as a quad can get without introducing other problems, again in my experience.

The biggest problem with the H8 Mini stock firmware and controller is the crazy YAW rates. Fortunately we can tame that. ;)

But I write not to sell more H8 Minis. I am single-handedly keeping Eachine or whomever in business. Rather I write to ask if any one else has noticed that the JJ1000 seems to age badly, reaching a point where it flies perhaps a wee bit less delightfully, but starts really sucking current -> short disappointing flight times.

If someone were paying me I'd have log books full of evidence, but I do not believe it to be a battery issue but a sad fact of life on the JJ1000.

What have you found?

@Sir Domsen
What does "Now it is real 3d " mean for the silverized H101 3D?
Is it possible to have motors off in Neutral like a 3d Helicopter?

EDIT: Found

looks like it would work as i would it to do :-)
