Yep, I think this is a great DeviationTX moment :) Because last times almost all cheap RC quadcopters are using XN297.
With Victzh's fantastic work, we can implement a lot of new interesting protocols. :)

Cool !
I'll try to implement the Eachine 3D X4 protocol ( bit.ly/1DXAWda ) as it is a one way protocol :)

Success!!!! :woohoo:
Tested with CX-10 Green board and JXD 395. Both works perfect, not any glitch or lost packet, simply perfect!
BTW, I tested also rates and flip mode and both works perfect.

Congrats Victzh, this is great!!!

Check out Builds subforum, I uploaded Devo 10, Devo 7E, and my Devo 10 model file for CX-10 green board.

The build is based on hexfet's code with my addition of XN297 emulation layer.

Please report success/failure.

CX-10 green board experimental build

Category: Builds

Please find enclosed experimental build for CX-10 based on hexfet's module.

It requires nRF24L01+ (or Beken equivalent) module.

I built it for Devo 10 and Devo 7E, model file has speed assignment to FMODE. If you have Devo 7E, you can assign Channel 5 to less than 0 for low speed, 0 to 50 for medium, >50 - fast.
Channel 6 mapped to ELEV D/R is a flip channel - <= 0 - no flip, >0 - do a flip upon the elevator/aileron stick.

Please note that it supports only CX-10 "green board" version.

Please report success/failure.

Generally, I prefer to have a model I'm deviating (though I had a good experience of making a model just by traces - SeByDocKy was very helpful in providing them for me). In this case I need to make sure first that nRF24 is able to receive ANY packets from XN297 at all. Theoretically it's possible, but not verified yet.

I may ask you about the board later, now I still have problems to solve with hardware I already have. But thanks for the offer.

The blue board is bi-directional (at least for bind stage), do you think there's a chance of making it work ?

I wish too ;-) I actually plan this, but I'm a lousy blogger. We'll see.

Yes, the reading is totally untested, even conceptually. I think that it's possible, but not sure.

Couple of kinks, and no blue board yet (I don't have blue board and as you know it is impossible to tell what they gonna send you). As soon as my Devo10 works reasonably well I'll put it in Builds subforum.

Wow, that sound great! :woohoo:
So probably finally we could replicate XN297 protocols using our beloved nRf24L01 in our Devo TXs?

Great Job !!!!
So you manage to scramble the packet by software just like XN297 does...
My green board CX10 is waiting for your protocol !!!
Thanks for your research !!!

The stick and switch positions don't matter for binding.

The YD717 protocols show the bind screen indefinitely, until bound or ENT is pressed. Is that what's happening when you try to bind?

The nightly build tests communications with the nRF at power-on, so if you've enabled the module in hardware.ini and don't get an error the module is likely okay.

You mention this is the "W" version of CX-30. With the history of the CX-10 I wonder if it's still using the YD717 protocol.

Unfortunately I have only CX-30W and WlToys V272 quads. I'm waiting for CX-10 from banggood.com, houpefully with red PCB. Maybe I'm doing some misteakes in binding.. Should I do something like turn some switches on/off ...
What I did:
On TX loaded model CX-10 (from atached files) every switches are off (on 0 position)
1) Turn on TX
2) Turn On quad
Quad is not binded
3) In model select menu "Retry it" and still nothing

I was trying also with put forward and backward trottle...

Hello everyone!
Is it possible to controll CX-30 by DEVO 10 ? Because of CX-10 red PCB, CX-30, CX-30S and CX-30W (smartphone version) can be controlled by same transmitter (Sky Wlkr protocol in deviation: YD717) It should be possible to flying with CX-30 with the same configuratin .ini file .

I 've upgraded firmvare to deviation-devo10-v4.0.1-85c58b9 Nightly Builds, and download models .ini file for CX-10 (i think it was for devo 7e) . But I can't bind it :( Could somebody help me ? Please

Sam, people did this - Arduino-based PPM module for several different protocols. There are threads on rcgroups devoted to such modules. They basically use Deviation code as a source of protocol information, not directly using the module source.

One of the threads is www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2165676 , also check this thread on making module from XN297 www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t...&page=3#post31068187 .

You don't need XN297 to make such a module (if you don't have Cheerson CX-10 and some others based on it) - the principle is the same.

And you don't need Beken module, it's fully compatible with nRF24L01+.
