Devo 10 Battery suggestions. was created by niteliter
I am currently useing EBL 2800 batteries, which seem to last maybe 1 weekend which will actually be about 2 hours of use,odd I think,I dont really feel comfy plugging a chord into the back of the TX,because im not sure there is any kind of a "charge" protection circuit in there,so I have to questions in regards to batteries in the 10,what mAh?,and what should the "power amplifier" be set too.I heard too high a setting will drain a battery faster.

The Tx has overcharge protection if you're using the appropriate battery types. I've done that for My 10 and 6S, and the 7E before them.

I use the HK LSD AA batteries.

I've been charging my Eneloops right in my TX, didnt do it for the longest time (I'm pretty anal about batteries in general) but after finally switching over for ~6 months and then taking the set of eneloops out and testing them not to long ago in my NiMH analyzer I'm more than happy with the built in charger.

www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__1795...ansmitter_pack_.html is also a good choice - has two power cords (one has to be converted to JST, the other can be used to charge without having to remove battery from your transmitter). Is a bit smaller than Devo10 battery case, I have fixed it with folded tissue, and the charging cables can conveniently be stored in the remaining "gap"

Runtime still has to be evaluated, but I guess it's at least 6 hours (it's in there since last week)

I'm using this 3S 2200mAh LiPo from Bang_good that I got for $8.50 ($9.99 now). Seems to work OK, but don't have a clue as to how long it will last before needing a charge yet.

If I ever get another, I will probably go with a LiFe next time though.

Really? Charging through the balancer plug? I have the same pack, but my charger will resist to do that without connecting the JST.

Edit: Sorry, did not see the third connector which made the connection to the tx. Then the black Futaba is free for charging.

@aMax: yes, the Futaba socket is free for charger connection. I have tested the pack and recommend to adjust charger end voltage to 3,5V per cell. The pack absorbs 1450mAh with that setting. I have bottom balanced the pack (with a resistor and a voltage meter) and won't balance the pack while charging to ensure the cells are at level when they approach empty state to prevent deep discharging of a single cell.

Bottom balanced to what level? My charger gives me a 2V option per cell, but i have not done this untill now.
I am using this pack for my fpv rx and the Quanum V1.

Bottom balancing was a hint I got when I searched the internet and found tips for elecric cars. I did a discharge of my pack (current 1.5A) and found out that cell voltage drops rapidly below 3.0V. After that I decided to use 2.80 volts as balancing target. 2.0V is a bit low, as the pack is nearly empty at 3.0V/cell. I have set my battery warning to 9.2V so there's enough power left to safely land my models.

Attached the discharge log before bottom balancing:

and charge log after bottom balancing:

Thanks!
Have to hook up the FTDI to my charger and do it for my pack.
