Devo 7e 100uf 2m with dsmx & 20m with Devo rx

I did a range test today using two rxs.

Transmitter: Devo 7E with 12s module
Devo protocol:Devo rx1002
Dsmx protocol:Storm s603 rx

I decreased tx output to 100uf with firmware.put transmitter on the 1ft from the ground and walk with rx. both rx have dual antenas.

Devo rx: 20m without blinking led
Storm s603 dsmx : 2m without blinking led(not sure how can get using spektrum full range rx)

I don't know the reason for range huge difference.test using same tx.same environment.i think it is better to have devo rxs instead of dsmx rx.

Just a suggestion because of 3 active threads:
1) Throw away your Storm RX and try with a new (from HH dealer) genuine Spektrum DSMx AR600, AR610 or better AR6210, AR8000 + TM1000
2) If you can not get at least 30-35m@1mw and 0-40F (<40) Spektrum FlightLog FrameLosses: Buy a new full 8s/10/12s HF module and try that (which you have not toasted / turned on without a properly connected antenna)

I can't figure out 12s module fried or not ? i will check the range using devo 10 and report back to forum.

You really need to test different Spektrum DSMx receiver too!

I think dsmx range failure is a rx problem.it's a cheap rx.i think better range with spektrum one.

I got the 15m range with devo 7e and devo 10 with cheap rx.i get the same range.i cant figure out 12s module fried or not ?

Well, if Devo works for you,the module is not fried. You better check the rx, since I am able to get the same range with a S603 as you posted for the RX1002. The weakness is the antenna part. Signal aplification by a simple RF transistor (AAG) and no diversity..
If the antennas are well oriented, it outperforms the RX615X (no LNA but diversity),.....but unfortunately not at flying a quad etc."
