Hold tight folks, I'm still working on a better ini. For now, though, I have this one.

It has -50 expo on the RUD, and 50/85 DR with no Expo on the AIL/ELE channels. FMOD0 is 50% and FMOD1 is 85.

Throttle hold is active on HOLD0. THR also has a subtrim of 12.5 so it SHOULD start spinning the motors when you flip to HOLD1. This is to help correct the "Flip of Death" (quad spins up one set - front, back or side - of motors before the other and causes an uncontrolled flip and crash) when you cut throttle and then power back up.

I'm currently trying to figure out how to enable Acro mode on FMOD, but it looks like the Runner is looking for activity on channel 5, but right now CH5 seems to be locked to the HOLD switch.

Edit: Ah, got it! Acro mode has been achieved.
The first INI enables Acro on FMOD1 and stability on FMOD0 with a simple 100% rate on AIL/ELE. The expo on RUD stays the same.

The second INI is the same as the first one I posted, just renamed to DR for the Dualrates on the FMOD switch.

Shouldn't it be possible to translate the devo7 settings to deviation und program an ini like that? Just an idea...

The biggest issue is that I wasn't understanding how the Devo7 settings translated to Deviation settings, till I read the actual Devo7 manual, vs the Runner 250's quick start guide. Then it was just a matter of messing with the Ch5 curve till I had it to where FMOD0 is INH and FMOD1 is ACT.

Guys,

I've only just got around to trying the Runner250 with my 7E however am having troubles with it.

I've managed to get it to bind ok however I can't get it to arm and I'm not sure how to configure the switches to change flight modes or trigger the buzzer. I did notice that when I went to bind it the protocol was set to 'none' and I had to change it to 'DEVO', even though in the .ini file I can clearly see that it says it should be 'DEVO'. Does that mean that the .ini is not working correctly?

If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.

Hi Raduque,

Were you able to complete a fully functional ini for the walkera runner 250 and how did you get it working? Do you have to bind it to the devo 7/10 or does it bind automatically to the 250 after powering up the transmittter?

Thanks for the hard work,

Renfeild

I can't seem to bind or if it is binding I can't get the motors to arm. Any suggestions? I have Rudder DR on 0, then FMOD to 0 and all the other switches to 0 then I put throttle to 0% and push rudder right, also tried rudder left with throttle 0% but nothing is happening. Any ideas? Thanks

I have configured a model for Runner 250 Advance with flight modes on FMOD switch and GPS functions on MIX switch.
Gear for throttle hold. No Camera on/off functions at this moment
But where is the ini file? So I can share it!

Mark your model number, say X. Switch your Devo to USB mode - easiest is to hold ENT button (usually on the right of your Devo) while turning it on. On the Devo's drive in the directory 'models' there is a file modelX.ini where X is the order number of the model you marked in step 1. This is your config file for the model. Share it with us, please.

Here my model.ini for Walkera Runner 250 Advance.

Throttle, Aileron, Elev and Rudd with Dual rate.
Ail DR, Elev DR and Rudd DR assigned to respective switch: Position 0= linear curve, position 1=40% Expo
Throttle with expo.

Gear switch used to turning ON throttle hold to -110% so to immediately turning OFF motors (when you see the ground is really near....:-) )

FMODE switch used to toggle flight mode: position 0 and 1= stabilized, position 2= ACRO mode

MIX switch use to toggle GPS mode: Position 0= no GPS, position 1= GPS HOLD, position 2=ReturnToHome

2 timers: countdown (8 minutes) e stopwatch started by throttle. Timer resetted with AUX4 and AUX5 Knob.

I have not used Gear to turning on/off camera cause I Dont' use camera recording, I prefer using gear long switch as "hazard switch" when you are in serious problems

No fail safe configured to throttle cause in some forum I read that it could cause problems to RTH.

Attached ini file, quad bmp and toggle used

Hoping could be useful to someone!

I quote myself, my .ini can be used with Runner Basic too, the only difference is that flight modes will be toggled with MIX Switch and not FMODE switch

Hi Mindo,

I was wondering why you set the failsafe to -100 in channel 5 (GPS)?

Doesn't the 250 advance fly back on signal loss?

Regards,
Steven

Failsafe on Channel 5 means that when you loose signal, GPS Switch goes to RTH. I don't know if flight controller has rth embedded

According to the user manual it should RTH when signal loss occurs, but the added feature is fantastic. Thanks for the settings and I look forward to your update.

If you ask me; if the transmitter loses signal how can it send the RTH command? It can't??

RTH on signal loss is programmed in the quad itself I think.

Well, here it is. Mindo's version worked very good, I altered a few things:
- GEAR switch now triggers foto/video
- Set throttle curve without expo; like standard curve as Devo 7 does
- removed throttle hold to immediately turn off motors (needed GEAR switch for foto/video)

Questions I still have:
Channel 5 (GPS MIX switch) has fail-safe set to -100. Maybe this one can be removed, any ideas?

Something I would still like to do:
- use RUDD D/R switch to set throttle hold to MID-STICK, so that GPS mode keeps exact same height

Regards!
