F12E m9 hall gimbal adapter was created by Toolbox1211

F12E m9 hall gimbal adapter

Category: Tutorials

Little trimming required in controller nothing that matters. Little more trimming of the m9 gimbal if you use origional screws.

There was no room to go off richardccl's stl . M9's mount from the front like origional no presser plate. You need to take the face plate off the controller and theres just enof room to tighted the gimbal on.

DO NOT reverse flip or touch the magnets.

As for the wires the plug does not fit you will need to crimp a custom end with the correct connector. Or you can cut and solder the old ones on the new gimbals.

Colors match black for black red for red and other for signal

I made a Thingsverse account just to post this but they requires 24hours membership before you can post a thing so the stl is on the way soon

Many thanks to richardccl whos stl i traced and modified so give credit where its due

Stick protectors will also be included when the stl arives

I have noticed no haptics at all wile dfplayer is active but i havent used it with telemetry enabled or used any timers.
I have had plenty of inactivity alarms and it is only voice. Currently my f12e is in alot of pieces doing all the mods lol. But it should be back together in the next few days I will test 0 volume and with telemetry i will also try timers. And let you know the results

Update: Telem haptics function aswell as timers
Full haptics with 0 volume

Concerning haptic issue I need some clarification: no haptic at all with voice activated? The default timer alarms, telemetry alarms etc should have haptic, but not any of the custom alarms/switches etc you might have assigned. If you turn audio vol to 0 in transmitter config, does haptic return?

Missing shutdown message is a known issue with voice, haven't been able to fix it yet.

I will look into haptic + voice.

Im currently doing this to my f12e had to make changes to richard's stl file so it fits the different mounts.
I then made a few other changes to make them stiffer then purchased a 3d printer

So after many attempts with the f12e i cannot find an internal power source other than off the battery (always on)
Most spots just make the transmitter reboot. Even tapping the 12v external power plug and using a stepdown causes massive cpu slowdowns and is unusable. You simply cant tap off anywhere past where power enters the board from what i can tell

Only two simple options as i see it are a seperate battery for the dfplayer or an always on direct lipo power source with a stepdown converter and remembering to unplug your battery. At least in the case of the f12e

Well i started digging myself

So it seams from what i can figure i can swap out the fpv reciever with another. Ch 1 2 3 and 4 are for switching channels They each have resistors labeled 101 inline. Not sure if this is a walkara thing or just how fpv recievers work. Anybody who can shed some light on this please let me know

Ch5, 6.0a ended up being the right aidio channel. This seems to go nowhere. The audio out jack is mono so this makes sense.

The power being 4.17v rock solid seems an odd voltage for a fpv transmitters but i dont know much about this

I will keep digging and also purchace a cheep fpv reviever module and do some testing. If anyone has so.e infor.ation they think would be helpfull it would be apriciated. Thanks

F12e missing led's

Category: General Discussions

So poking around the circuit board i noticed there are three spots for led's
two of them have no led installed
The installed led is for the power indicator

The other two are on either side of the power indicator

I traced one to whats labeled AV_LED. So can i just install the led and have an AV status light?

I would need to remove the board to trace the other. Does anybody know where it goes and its function and also can i install a led in this location?

Thank you

F12e 5.8 ghz improvements possible?

Category: General Discussions

Im wondering if the 5.8 ghz fpv module in the f12e can be replaced similar to the 4 in 1 module.

My plan is to purchase the fatshark base sd goggles (no reciever) and use the cvbs on the f12e.

There are plenty of fancy fpv recievers for various goggles and to install one in the controller if possible would save hundreds on goggles

This may also be entirely unnecessary or impossible if so please let me know thanks.

After some diggging it appears the pinout is very similar between fpv recievers according to thies pictures first is the f12e

So power, ground,video,ch1,ch2,ch3 are the same as others 6.5m from what i understand is mono audio. As for ch4 and ch5 i can only assume are for channed switching but i cant find any aftermarked recievers with a ch4 and ch5

Any help would be greatly appreciated

F12e xms testing

I have the f12e and I have done xms,and dfplayer and have the 4 in1 and m9 hall sensor gimbals in the mail

To show my appreciation for the hard work that has gone on in the deviation forums I would like to offer my help to test and report in any way I can. I would love to help but coding is beyond my current ability.

So to start with here is some bugs I noticed .

Toggle icons and switches. Icon is a empty box when switch is in the position radio was turned on in until you move it

if you move a 3 way from pos 0 to 1 then 2 the icon stays in pos1 if you go quickly it will go to pos2 icon.

If you have 2 icons for a 2 way switch only pos1 will display

After enabling the dfplayer there are no haptics anymore

I understand with the dfplayer there is a goodbye message on poweroff but I have yet to hear it

Also if somone is capable of it an organized folder system for the dfplayer sounds would be very helpful. Not sure if the dfplayer allows folders or if the way deviation comunicates the mp3 to run would work with a folder system

Can I use this
4 in one

Instead of this
Build 4 in 1

I was shopping for the pieces to build the 4 in 1 for my f12e and ran into this. Will it work and is one better or more functional than the other

Thank you for the reply .
That's good news that the gimbal mounting is the same. I will try to put hall sensors in and share my results with the community in case I'm not the only one interested.

When you say a real Tx do you mean one that is not nightly builds or is the f12e an inferior device? Please educate me

Another bug I noticed was when naming a model if you dont enter or change anything when you go back you get stuck in the model setup page requiring a hard reset

Is this an appropriate place to be posting bugs? I see there is a bug reporting system but the link in non functional. I Dont want to clutter the forums with info that has a more proper place

Is there a way to know if changes have been made to a build?

Not sure if I'm barking up the right tree but if we had a seperate hardware.ini for each model or the ability to edit the voice status via the model menu and we could select the voice status per model I feel like switching between them wouldent be an issue. Assuming the crash is due to the ppm status not knowing what to do when voice is enabled and you use ppm out

Another idea would be to have it shut off voice when trainer switch is enabled and vice versa so we dont need a seperate model without voice for ppm in. just flip switch and plug in when you switch back to the trainee will be receiving the dfplayer commands until you unplug but I dont see a problem with that

Thank you for reporting bugs to me.

f12e has same mount as d10. I can not confirm hall sensor will work but worth to try.

for the issues:
1. datalog: I will take a look on a real Tx.
2. ppmin: there is a bug. I will take a look.
3. usb gamepad: it is a known issue. I will submit a pr today. Hopefully, it will get fix in tomorrow's nightly.
