Forum upgrade ??? was created by vlad_vy
Nice forum upgrade, nothing worked. I can reply to old topic with plain text message only, no editor, no attachments and so on.
But for new topic I have editor and attachments. If I edit this message, I once again have nothing, no editor, no attachments... I can see attachment name only if I hover mouse over it.

It doesn't help. My smartphone also can do it, but it's too small for my eyes. Desktop Firefox can't do it.

I can write new or edit old posts without any trouble in Chrome and Firefox using the default WYSIWYG editor.
Have you ever changed the default editor in your profile?
BTW I can only see the attachment file names in a buble on hover, but I don't think it is a bug, but just a design change...
EDIT: some not so plain text...
The font size list is empty indeed, but I could enter it manually...

Actually I tried all four editor options in my profile, but they all worked the same way. Strange. I would have thought that if I set "Editor - None", I wouldn have only a simple textarea, but the same WYSIWYG editor was used...

Nothing help to me. No editor, no new attachments, I can't edit old attachments. I can send plain text only. (Windows XP, Firefox v49.0.1)
It look like it is mobile version of forum, with huge avatars. So, forum unusable for me.

Maybe that's just me, but I don't like the new design, too much white, big useless avatars, lots of wasted space.
My 2 cts, but as I said maybe that's just me ...

Once again, Windows 7, Firefox v49.0.1. All work fine, so it's related to Windows XP. But anyway I don't like new design, it's ugly.
At least I can sometimes do something from my notebook.

I don't like new version at all.
I agree it's ugly, too much white !
Was it really necessary ? What new features ?
just my 2 cents.

Couple question only. Why we need new version of the forum? What will be better? In my opinion everything became worse.

First, relax a bit, please!
There were updates to the forum and the portal engines regularly, but this is the first time the forum engine was updated to a higher major version.
Nobody knew it will change that dramatically, but IMO not upgrading the open source web applications to their latest versions is not a viable option considering the security issues the older versions can have.
It's a pity, that this version doesn't support the old styles anymore, but I will make corrections or install an all new template if I find a suitable one, just need some time to do it.
I don't really like this either, despite it has some nice changes.
Maybe I just need to get used to it.
If you want to help the styling process, please list your concrete complaints against this style, and the positives too!

What a gentle description.
At first glance, my thought was,.... the forum has been hacked.
On my phone it is unusable, too much action and scaling to get tjhe text right
The desktop is readable but gives me eye cancer on all this white background and the font type.
That a post of one line has the same size as one of eight lines is a waste of reading space.
Too much scrolling.
I am not the youngest anymore...maybe that´s the reason I don´t like the changes.
.....m2c
Edit: Space for a post seems to be dynamic now.

Good for date and time on mobile.
Bad: The text layout does not support true Blackberry Bold ALT + Click = Auto Text Layout Zooming
I can not get the text any bigger...the right side of text is fixed with newlines....Blackberry can not manually re-arrange the text layout including newlines.
I can.not use the BB Bold anymore - text too small on mobile.

I also like the old one more. Need some time to get used to the new one.
By the way I have no issues browsing with Firefox or IE, all buttons are there and editing works just fine.

To answer your question: the old 4.x has become obsolete, and no more supported, that's why it offered the v5.0.2 for upgrade.vlad_vy wrote: Couple question only. Why we need new version of the forum? What will be better? In my opinion everything became worse.
