Ttraxxas Aton? was created by CuttinEJ
A friend on the Traxxas Flyers Club FB Group said if we came over here and asked nicely, that some of you might consider trying to make it possible to use A Devo for the Aton. So, I came to let you know that if anyone did that, it would not be unappreciated. There are quite a few of us who would very much like to see something like that happen.
Thank you for your time.

I wish I could fly my LaTrax Alias with my 7E... that would be very peachy! Read somewhere where it wasn't possible... wish it was, too...

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

Going to need someone to disassemble the RTF transmitter - or some transmitter that works with them - that comes with those aircraft. Get us pictures with enough detail to read the markings on the major chips, in particular any microcontrollers and the rf module. Identifying the RF module will tell us whether or not it's possible at all, and what needs to happen next. Ideally, it'll have a stand-alone RF module that deviation already uses, and the next step would be a capture of the SPI data going to the rf module in use to reverse engineer the protocol.

Does anybody knows, is Alias TX compatible with Aton?
I have TX and Alias board. It uses CYRF6936 and the protocol is bidirectional - the TX senses RX's presence and reports voltage.

Bingo! I have exactly the same transmitter! Mine was sold for Alias. I'll try to solder to it again, I took another look at my receiver capture - better to see what transmitter thinks.

Do you need any pictures from inside the Aton.

No, I don't expect any surprises. It uses the same TX as Alias, that's enough. Last night I successfully soldered to the TX.

Wow, thanks victzh! That would be incredibly awesome to be able to fly the Alias with the 7E!

I guess no luck yet. Why does traxxas have to be so difficult.

Partially, it's a matter of priorities. I just finished S-FHSS, so I was busy. Partially - it's quite hard to solder to. It's a two-way protocol, you need to understand more how it binds. For me it would be the first one using CYRF6936 - I'm not used to it, all the radio chips have their own peculiarities. Real life also interferes with all of this.

Everything you are doing is way above my head. If it was a car no problem for me. I am just really impressed by what you do and how you do it on your own time.

It's fun, you know! When your piece of software controls the flying thing, it's something. Gadgets in general are fun to program, but flying ones especially.

I kinda know what you mean. When I have a problem vehicle that others can't fix and it is given to me to figure out. Pure joy and satisfaction of getting it fixed.

No, was distracted by Radiolink AT9, vacation etc. Too many projects, too little time. The model for it is on my table (literally - board with CYRF6936 module in it), but there are several things closer to it. I will try to find some time.

New here, searching for possibilities of the Aton's protocol being researched so we can use our own Tx. Was this just dropped, or is someone still trying to make this happen? Would be awesome if you can make it happen,.... alot of interested Aton owners would love to see this happen (includes myself). Thanks !!
