Devo 7e TX module flip - SCLK? was created by bianchifan
Last week I noticed that my ebay watched Devo7e was gone, shortly I deceded to buy a used one.
After cleaning and opening I liked to strip out the useless TX module, only CC2500 and A7105 will run in future.
Although there was visible glue on the top of the module i didn't took care of that.
For all who like to do the same a warning at this point:
BE Careful, my module was glueed to the PCB !!
The result: a damaged PCB!
Due to overheating some pads passed away..
(
Very unlikely, pad/pin 2 - SCLK - passed too.
Where to find the correct signal?
The 7e hardware connections seem to fail, they are tellying of pins 9 and 10 but there are only 7 pins/pads.

SCK is brought to the top of the board with a via. Possibly if you haven't damaged the copper inside the hole, a small wried soldered in there will give you your connection back. If not, look for Pin 21 on the processor, it has a via from the top of the board that you should be able to solder to if you carefully scrape away some of the solder mask.

Maybe I should have a try by heating a piece of tinned copper.
Datasheet names pin 21 as PA5 / SPI1SCK, Hardware-SPI?
But it pointed me to an idea, there is a pin 34 named PB13 / SPI2SCK routed to a lonely via.
This lookes promising.

if there were any connection I mustn't ask here.silpstream wrote: Possibly if you haven't damaged the copper inside the hole, a small wried soldered in there will give you your connection back

I do not think so, pin 21 isdefinily connected to the 8-pin Flash, if I identified the ordering correctly.silpstream wrote: If not, look for Pin 21 on the processor.

@bianchifan, sorry, my bad. I must have been daydreaming when looking up the pin numbers. I was referring to the via that you pointed an arrow to. That's the one you want.

BTW, perhaps someone likes to correct the C&P mismatch

Well, if I knew that I might have thought double on a better desoldering procedure...Arakon wrote: Check here for alternate points:

To get my broken pads repaired I had to choose brute force method: cut all pins and desolder them each by each.
Unfortunately the ordered helper tools didn't help me, not enough space, bore was to narrow.
So it was still a fuck@?!""§$%$/%... job, CPU swappin' was quite easy in comparance.
Luckily I found a handful of old old but still silver shining via rivets, sticker told me something about 0.7/1 mm.
My caliper told 0.9mm diameter, I widened up by they wont fit.
I must widen again to 1mm so the downside pad (1mm) passed away..
Pressed and soldered I must hope thay will remain.
I took the chanche to make pics of the covered parts, perhaps they are helpful for somebody.
