I think you can use devo7e-256 emulator, but replace "hardware.ini" with "hardware.ini" from IR8M. The only thing that will not work correctly - import model files from other Deviation transmitters.

ARGHA, I have attached the build from 25th March 2018 which is a good build in my opinion. I was testing VLAD_VY various builds for him at this time regarding this missing module issue. Anyway, I have uploaded this better build for you to try. Please let me know how you get on?

Hello Stefan,
Thanks for the help I tried the updated firmware "deviation-ir8m-v5.x.x-2018-03-25.zip" still no luck getting the same error as before "missing Modules CRYF6936 ,,,, " Now I doubt that might be its a faulty transmitter but its new just got this few days back from banggood.
Thanks for the help anyways, can some one suggest any troubleshooting ?
Thanks.
Argha

Hi argha, I have the version one of the iRX-IR8M, but I still have a backup of the original firmware, that it was shipped with. I'm not sure what version tool you are using, as the updater? I am therefore attaching the shipped default firmware and giving you a link to my dropbox, for the updater that I use. I can't attach the updater here, because of the 2 MB attachment limitation and the updater zip slightly exceeds.

Please let me know how you get on?
Regards, Stefan
PS Please ignore the Zip file date, this is because I repackaged the original tool, which was compressed as a RAR and thought it might be more convenient for you in Zip format.

I received my IR8m V2 this week and I installed the new firmware (ir8m-v5.0.0-f31c081) but I get the error message "Missing Modules CYRF6936"... Finally it's a software or hardware problem ?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Most likely it is hardware problem. But we don't know it exactly, since nobody with problem can't provide factory (original) filesystem, in particular original "hardware.ini". Most users havn't this problem after firmware upgrade.

It's the same result with the original firmware (deviation-t8sg-v5.x.x-2017-09-19) and the new firmware. So I'll contact banggood customer service...

Can someone please provide a link to where I can download the newest firmware for the IR8M?
When I use the nightly builds it shows up as 2017 on my radio.

Anyone having range problems with the V.2 iR8M? I just got one from Banggood.
Using my ImmersionRC power meter, into 50 ohms I get:
- FRSky JR transmitter module: 65mW (rated as 100mW)
- Modded Devo 7E (cc2500): When set to 100mW, outputs 55mW.
Conclusion: if not 100% accurate, the meter is within a factor of 2
With my new V2 IR8M, from the IPEX connector on the main PCB, I get:
(Chip - Pwr into 50 ohms/DeviationTX set power, in mW)
A7105: 25/150, 25/100, 25/30, 25/10
CC2500: 2.5/150, 1.3/100, 1.2/30, 1.2/10
CYRF6936: 1/150, 0.4/100, 0.1/30, 0.02/10
NRF24L0H: 0.4/150, 0.4/100, 0.2/30, 0.2/10
!!!
So the DeviationTx 'Power' setting is at least changing something with some chips, but not all and not accurate. Okay, these are all different chips with different maxmimum power outputs. It looks like output isn't obviously being hobbled by some universal botch on the board, since the A7105 can kick out 25mW. And sure, this is a cheap Tx mainly for close-in micro-copter pilots, so perhaps it is simply caveat emptor.
My main concern is the CC2500 lack of power - I mainly fly planes on FRSky receivers, so this lamentable output needs addressing before I use this 'Full range' (it says on the box) transmitter . The CC2500 in my modded Devo 7E can manage 55mW.
Am I missing something? Has this been addressed by firmware builds? Or is there an alternative module people are fitting to get 'full range' power i.e. closer to 100mW?

Join, I have the same problem.
I do not have a power meter. but with the FrSky receiver L9R, I got a distance of 120 meters, at the maximum TX power!
Your measurements explain the reason!
Can this be fixed by FW update?

Yes, data above consistent with firmware, or at least module control problem: A7105 max output rating 1mW, so looks like a PA (power amp) is on the board, but throttled by a LNA (must be on board because other chips power is varying), and for the other chips the PA is disabled?
