Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

The FCC regs have an exception for hobby usage. If you build (or presumably have built) a device for such, you are fine so long as you deal with interfering with other services appropriately. Someone handling as group buy may have problems, depending on the interpretation and intent of the law.

FYI, my preference at the moment is likely to go through Seeed. They can do assembly, testing and point of sale. However, I think there is a 500 order minimum, and I'm not sure that is attainable. I will also engage some of the knock-off brands (Orange, Lemon) to see if there is interest. Since i'm not looking to take a cut and the design would be done and complete, it is just a question of if they see the market, and are willing to deal with the open-source nature of the software. Seeed could still be better, since I think most companies would charge a sizable markup, and with Seeed, I'd have more control over the pricing.

I would highly recommend Lemon Rx. They have a reputation for quality and at least in my experience, better support than HK/OrangePhracturedBlue wrote: FYI, my preference at the moment is likely to go through Seeed. If you can ship to Japan, I would pay for the module(s) up to $100+shipping.
if you go through Seeed, that's convenient for me.

I have a Devo 10 coming and have several Syma quads (X11, X5C-1) and an RC Logger EOX. I would be very interested in a plug and play module that is reasonably priced so I can fly all my quads with one TX. (USA)
