Seems fine on my end (I can receive the packets with XN297 dump running on another transmitter). Maybe fine-tune is not enough, I'll add coarse tune, and if it still doesn't work we'll try to fiddle with gfsk deviation.

Are you really able to tune during bind? I thought on the devo that there was a popup on the screen while binding?
If you are trying to adjust outside of the bind interval, it won't do a bind...

Sorry, I only meant he doesn't have to restart the radio.
Set tune, try bind, repeat

@Fer, I updated the Devo 10 build with a Freq-Coarse setting, try steps 1 by 1, if this is really the problem I believe only a couple of clicks should be necessary (change carrier frequency in 100 kHz steps, no more than +/-5 clicks, that wouldn't make sense).

I'm not sure carrier frequency is the problem tho, fine-tune already allows +/-200 kHz which should be more than enough given it works with (some) nrf24l01 ... try it then we'll try with different gfsk deviation.

It's also using the same ID/Channel as a stock transmitter, just in case ...

The file is the same, the same link as before?

Also, you mean i change freq in steps of 100 (say -127, -50, 0, 50, +127 should be ok), and then for each Freq, i change Freq-Coarse one by one?

Same link as before, the devo 10 build has been updated. (revision 231bb33)
Yes that's ok for the procedure :)

Well, i tried Frequencies -127, -50, and for those i tried Freq-Coarse from -127 to +127 but not one by one, only steps of 10. Checking each frequency- coarse one by one from -127 to +127 would take 255 bind attempts for only one Frequency, and up to 1270 attempts in total. Am i right? If this is the case, it wil take a lot of time to check all those (unless i get lucky).

Only need to test Freq-Coarse from -5 to 5, in steps of 1, not from -127 to 127 ;)

Tried -127, -50, 0, +50, +127 and for each of them Freq Coarse -5 to 5 and still no joy. I may be doing something wrong... I wish i could beam the plane to you, for you could easily find out what is going on.

Ok, probably the problem isn't the carrier then, I'll make a version with adjustable gfsk frequency deviation later.

Build updated (c45cc8b) with a "Deviation" setting ranging from -2 to 5 (100 to 190 kHz).
According to the datasheets:
NRF24L01 fsk deviation @ 250 kbps = 160 kHz (setting = +3)
XN297L fsk deviation @ 250 kbps = 125 kHz (setting = 0) to 150 kHz (setting = +2)

Coarse setting removed, I believe it's not useful.

Installed latest update, tried -127, -60, 0, 60, 127 with -2 to +5, no success. I would feel so much better if there was another one with the same V2 version to test too, because now if i am doing something wrong, i put you in trouble for nothing. After failing to bind, i turned on its own tx, it binds ok. I am willing to keep trying if you believe there are other things we could try.

Probably a stupid question but are you sure this cc2500 module is working fine ?

I suppose Pascal will be able to do more tests in a few weeks.

Yes the module works fine, because i think that is what XK K110 and K120 is using, and X100 quad i think. Those work fine.

But, to rule that out, tommorow i will update the 3in1 DEVO i got. I will try with that too.

Unfortunatelly the one that has the original NRF doesn't have a CC2500 installed.

I confirm the Futaba S-FHSS protocol is using cc2500, your module is working fine.

Just out of curiosity, can you run the protocol on a transmitter and XN297 Dump on another one and check for which parameters (freq/deviation) you get the best reception on channel 22 (most stable "Valid CRC found!") ?

No hurry ;)

I installed the firmware on the other DEVO 10, the one with the 3in1 and still didn't work.

For the other thing you say, do i need two DEVO's to do the job? Because the one with the 4in1 and the other with the 3in1 don't bind at all, while the one that binds doesn't have a CC2500. It binds with the "old" code using the NRF. I am not sure i understand what you want me to do. Give me some more instructions and i will try it.

Just hold on for now, I think Pascal will have to do some tests when he has a chance.

Have you tried to decrease Tx power ?
Could be that the Rx is swamped though I doubt this Rx has a LNA ...

I performed another test with 10mw of power, still the same. Besides, i remember having tested it with the NRF and it would bind no matter how many mw of output i had chosen. Ok, i will hold for now, and wait.
