Hi, yes I am using the new firmware, it does support cppm perfect off FrySky and some Flysky cppm receivers I have. But off the Satellite receiver you need the Tarot cable or make up a cord yourself, I will but haven't got there yet. Then the Satellite will work, just not directly into the KK2.0 board.

so will the Lemon rx work as cppm with the 1.6++ firmware?

The Lemonrx satellite should work no hastle BUT you need a Tarot cable as mentioned or build one yourself, there isn't a place to directly plug in the satellite rx. I don't have a Tarot cable but may make one up at the weekend and try this myself but it should be fine if you have one:

Hi
I made a little DSM satellite to CPPM converter.

It is manly just a microcontroller and a 3.3V voltage regulator.

As you can see on the picture, the converter PCB has the same size as the R100 satellite (the upper PCB in the photo) so that both can be shrinked together.

I used a cypress microcontroller for three reasons:
1. I was unable to find an Atmel or Microchip 8-Pin micro with 16-bit PWM.
2. I always wanted to do something with the PSoC series.
3. The final goal is, to reprogram the R100 satellite so that it will directly output CPPM

At a typical pcb pool service you can get the pcb for approx. 3€/ per pcb, if you order 10 or more.
The CY8C21123 can be sourced for about 1 € if ordered in quantities of 10.
You need a CY3217 Miniprog1 for programming the micro.
The IDE and the compiler can be downloaded a cypress for free.

The converter is tested with an orangeRX R100 satellite receiver.
I used an LP5DSM and a deviation based TX for testing.

Currently the satellite is forced into bind mode each time you power up (that fits best to my LP5DSM), but that programming can be easily changed to have a jumper to activate bind mode (the two programming pins are unused during normal operation).

I'm actual using a Deltang Rx73 an my Rachel Quad. The FC is a MW32 which is compatible with the NAZE32. Initially I tried a Delatang Rx31 which was working in general but I was a bit worried about the range. I’m using a Devo 10 Transmitter. I also posted my configuration in the config area.

David from Deltang is very nice to work with.

Hey Guys,

sorry for not letting hear from me earliert. David from Deltang sent me the prototype of Rx61a with the SumPPM RX in September and I have been using it ever since. It has 12 channels within the SumPPM Signal and a resolution of 1024. And what is especially great (David's idea) is that it also carries the RSSI signal within the SumPPM signal.

Roberto / Crashpilot1000 extended his "Harakiri" Port of the Baseflight firmware for the Naze32 multicopter board to read the RSSI signal as well. So I am now flying my X12 with it ;)

Here is a picture of David's RX (left), compared to a spektrum satellite (middle) and an Orange RX.

Ancient topic but just in case anyone ends up as I did after a quick Google... LemonRX now have an 8ch PPM RX.
At the time of post it could be found here:
www.lemon-rx.com/shop/index.php?route=pr...th=72&product_id=118

I have one connected to my Naze and it works nicely.

i have a 8channel lemon PPM+UART but when i tried it with APM (shorting channel 2 and 3) I didn't get any visible input in Mission Planner.

I have not understood if this receiver is supposed to work with apm in ppm mode or not. Thank you!

I have a working configuration using the older DSM2 6 channel PPM Lemon RX and an APM.

How are you connecting the Lemon RX to the APM? What model of the PPM receiver do you have?

I have this:

8 CHANNEL DSM2 UART
can you confirm that this receiver can't output the PPM that APM needs? Thank you!

That receiver does NOT have PPM Output. It has a serial output that pretty much no flight controller supports.
The only PPM receiver lemonRX have available is the one linked above by thwaitm.

$30 for a DSMX PPM receiver and a satellite is pretty darn cheap, actually :)

The next closest thing is a FrSky D4R-II that, even if it offers only 4 channels over PWM, it has 8 PPM channels. But requires a CC2500 module in your Devo, and even so the receiver needs to be flashed with the 27msec firmware, added pain

Next, you could buy an Orange DSMX/S.BUS receiver (for not much less, once you add the crazy Hobbyking shipping charges), and that gives you S.BUS. If you are willing to reflash your CPPM converter on the APM (requires special handling) with a semi-unoffical SBUS firmware, it works (kinda: there are problems as noted in the comments on the video below). But not only you have just the receiver without the satellite (and need to reflash the small AtMega chip in addition), you have to put up with HK's awful support, instead of the super-nice Lemon Rx people

Beyond that, you are looking to spend twice as much...

But your 8 CH Rx works just fine with the APM, just connect the PWM inputs and everything works just fine)

Super great explanation :)
Thank You!

So I'll stay with pwm and maybe later I'll get a ppm lemon.

There are some RX that work quite nice with CPPM.
1. 6ch; Storm S603
2. 7ch; Storm F701

I have the S603 and it has an amazing range.

The only weakness is the failsafe.
On my RX615X all but CH3(failsafe) go to neutral.

On the S603 (failsafe ch3) the last input on all channels but CH3 persists.
I will try to program the my 7e with failsafe on the other channels with neutral
output and rebind the rx.
Got this rx two days ago and had no time to do this, only did a range test.

Works with the CC3D & Flip32_Plus.

EDIT:
What is this guy doing? Telemetry on the PPM port?

Also the Devo RX703A works nicely. I use it with the APM and the Pixhawk controllers. Channel 5 is hard coded as fail safe.

Uh, interesting, learned one new thing today, thanks...

But 6 channels are really not enough for an APM, and the F701 (without satellite) costs pretty much as much as a 10 Ch LemonRx with a satellite (and 10 channels are much better than 7 for APM, since you can have channel passthru for things like a gimbal)

So, in the end, the Lemon Rx is still the best deal, if you need a CPPM receiver for the APM

Sure! But the 6 channel Storm S603 is a very good deal for 12USD you get DSMX, PPM and a bigger range. For other uses where six channel are OK this is a real deal I think.

EDIT: look like GLB has the 8ch version for only 17 usd!!!
