I made a quick and dirty cable for my anylink, just took a servo extension cable and soldered the black to the ground post on the battery pack, red to the positive on the battery pack (the 4 AA pack in the devo8 that is) the the yellow signal cable I connected to a head phone jack. It all tucked into the devo8 battery compartment when not in use.
I've since taken it apart as I don't have the devo8 any more.

Not sure what the 7e battery is like, but you may be able to get something going... if nothing else, the one posted above with the battery will work fine.
