7e not connecting to flight sim was created by FlighlessBird16

I can't get my 7e to connect via ppm to my flight sim
Recently I upgraded my 7e to deviation and haven't been able to hook it up to my flight sim. The cable I am using is a ppm to usb thing I got off of amazon. I have been able to connect to the flight sim with stock firmware (just connect it to the back of the radio and turn it on). Is there something in the radio setting I have to enable?

Yes, you need to switch to PPM protocol for simulator usage then, or connect it with a simple USB cable and use the USBHID protocol.
