Post your Frequency tunes here ! was created by Fernandez
To start this topic, I have been measuring my bind ranges for several receivers and wanted to validate, differences between and get an idea of repeatability.
What freq offsets are acceptable for range? What are differences between receivers? Can I set my offset value same for all my receivers? An off tune TX-RX can potentially be dangerous leads to reduced range.

So tested frequency fine tune for 5 Original Frsky receivers, transmitter set to 100uW, same ID, fixed same distance approx. 40cm between tx rx antenna.

D4RII -30 to +41 bind range 71 mid tune +5.5
D4RII -25 to +44 bind range 69 mid tune +9.5
D4RII -24 to +48 bind range 72 mid tune +12
D4R -31 to +40 bind range 71 mid tune +4.5

X8R -49 to +77 bind range 126 mid tune +14
X8R -47 to +80 bind range 127 mid tune +16.5

I need to test with some more X8R.....
Why I find different offset?

Also want to mention that in Dseries protocol there is a coarse freq tune and a fine freq tune, the coarse freq tune, probably not functional, o could still bind when moving at max value, so used fine freq tune and kept coarse at centre.

So anyway post your tune findings here, for statistics............

This does not really make sense without posting which transmitter and/or module was used.

My D8 receivers (two DIY F802 & one F82DA) are best at -4 to -8 and the D16 (XSR & XM+) are at -10 and -2 with the
blue CC2500 module.

Hey I can't update my post anymore some more measurements:

X4R -53 to +73 bind range 126 mid tune +10

IrangeX Clone XSR -26 to +105 bind range 131 mid tune +39.5
IrangeX Clone XSR -22 to +106 bind range 128 mid tune +42.0

My module used is the old skyartec / bangood cc2500, however anyway I think it gives interesting information about, variances. Also I would expect that X series and D series find the same tune, from my module which seem not the case here......

Also the clones are way off and basically can't be used at all with original frsky gear......

And how far can you safely be off tune, what is the tolerances and affect on range?

I do not get this big bind range , just tested two D8 (F802 & F82DA) and got maximal 78. Just 6 before bind lost the telemetry warning started on both sides. Both receivers have the same optimal bind frequence, but the absolute values seem to differ for today because of the temperature and the humidity.
In addition I might even have used a different antenna orientation,....or my neighbours do not use their wlans heavily,..........who knows.
Test: 100uW, at least 2 m distance and both antennas on the same rf polarisation.
Now both receivers are -53/´-52 to +24/ +25 ( F802 / F82DA)(single Dipole / two normal diversity antennas, auto diversity on the Pa front end)

Edit
In comparison to previous tests, the bind ranges seems to be shifted by 10 to the minus side.

It is interesting all my receivers posted here run original Frsky Firmwares, d series and x series. The 2 I range X receivers are clone and run original firmware. (but they are not functioning wel for me even when using offset 40, they have dropouts..)

Your rx tested run probably middelic code?

It is interesting to see also d series and x series do have different behaviours.

Another methoth of fin your tune: You can also put tx in 100uW range check, then watch the green Rx green led, you can shift the fine freq during transmission, at the edges you get dropouts then finally Rx unlocks. Values found are around the same as values find with the bind method.

Only the two F802 are running midelic´s firmware, the F82DA has still the delivered firmware.
It´s for sure a clone firmware but which version? I did not change it until now, because of the difference in the
diversity handling.
While midelic counts the missing packets, this firmware does not need to do this.
The PA has a combined diversity switch, which compares the voltage signal level and does autoswitching to the stronger one.
Search for " rfx2411".
Last year I did some tests with apha versions of D16 on one of my F802. but it seemed the AVR was a bit slow to do the telemetry
as well. Ran fine on Devo and Taranis. Now all guys on RCG are waiting for new stuff to come.....me too.;) ...ups this seems
to be already copyrighted...
