If Walkera doesnt have anything to do with Deviation then why is it being built? Walkera is making money obviously using the system (along with Jumper and the others) but why would anyone go to this much trouble just for fun?

Actually Walkera doesn't use deviation firmware, they use their own proprietary firmware, named devention.
Since deviation is open sourced, anybody can use it, like for example Jumper does...
It is a hobby project made by enthusiasts, nobody pays for it.

The most integral part of a flight system is so uncontrolled being open source like it is, its kinda crazy. But its genius too, a project amongst many for the same gole. FAA must love this.
I didnt ask the question to be a jerk, Im just fascinated at how Iv bound 5 receivers, uploaded firmware, installed sound module, and all of its done not by one company and it all works.
