There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

I knew my devo12 should have been able to play mkv's!

The 12E looks like something from a starwars movie - Ugly!

The Devo 12E looks like a cheap toy and why did they use the B/W Devo 10 screen?
The Devo F12 FPV looks nice though.
I reviewed the Devo F7 that Walkera sent me. That uses an ugly screen/menu (blue background with white text) and has no pitch and throttle curve graphs. The video is OK on it but it is hard to see outdoors.
I like the Devo 8S, 10, and 12S.

These releases supports my view that Walkera decided to go for the toy and entry level FPV markets, rather than challenging the established players in the professional RC market.
If true it's not good news for Deviation, but we have Taranis+ as backup

I hope they don't charge much of a premium for the 12E. Looks like a Devo10 with 2 more knobs. Probably costs all of $1 more to manufacture.

yep the 12e to me is just a modified 10, an entry level 12 channel TX, though hopefully they release it in black also!

It's ok, after all white is the new black. Personally I'd rather have it with 2 extra 3-pos switches and in silver.

yeah DJI has a lot to answer for with this white crap lol, i'm presuming that deviation will work ok with the 12e so the possibilites should be good, but i suppose we'll have to wait and see?

the 2x3 mod for the 7e can be added to the devo8 or devo10 as well.
We'd need to figure out which connections to make, and the code would be updated, but it will work on any of the Walkera Txs.

It is unlikely I'll be willing to buy a 12E just to try to figure out the differences from the Devo10, so if it is wired differently, it may take some time to make work.

I would be willing to experiment a bit with this on my Devo10.PhracturedBlue wrote: the 2x3 mod for the 7e can be added to the devo8 or devo10 as well.

I could test this (next week) with my Devo8 and 12. So we would need only a Devo6.

The devo8 and devo6 modifications should be the same, since they both have the same matrix (devo6 just doesn't have upper trims)
For the Devo8, I think you want to connect the outside poles of the switches to B6 B7 B8 B9 (look at the Devo8 pinout article to hcoose good connection points)
the center terminals will connect to E2
For the Devo10, it should be B4, B5, B8, B9 and center to E2
For the Devo12, it should be C6 C7 C8 C9, and center to B5
However, to maximize flexibility, we could flip the matrix, and you could have 5 switch positions rather than just 4. I'm really not sure it is worth the effort, but for example on the Devo8, you'd choose to connect to E2, E3, E4, E5, E6 with center positions to B6.
I am not going to support both orientations, so whichever is chosen now will be the end of it. i haven't looked at the matrix wiring. It is possible wiring one way is easier than the other.
Note that the above is based on my tables, and has in no way been tested.
