NOT BINDING DEVO 8S AND NOT POWER OFF was created by rerpoteq
hello.
I have a problem with my devo 8s, after putting deviation fw 4.0.1.
devo can not link to any walkera genius cp or v120d and v450, not binding With Nothing helicopter.
when I put the original firmware of walkera command does not turn off, just removing the battery off.
I have tried all the firmwares and the same happens.
deviation not binding
not original and can only turn off When power off remove battery
my friend have other devo 8s and same problem.
deviation not binding and fw original cant power off, only power off if remove battery.

Have you read the manual before? Sorry for asking, but there are so much important information inside...
The migration process to deviation is also described there. It looks as if you have "uploaded" the firmware, not "upgraded" (in DFuse software; this leads to corruption of the firmware file so download it again). Try to redo the migration steps with the manual in hand and you will get lucky...

then you are not following the correct installation process, use the proper deviation manual >>
www.deviationtx.com/repository/Documenta...tion8UserManual.pdf/
and follow it to the letter

mi devo 8s s/n:8 i buyed pak china 10 day ago.
i read this in forum.
"Warning to Devo8/8s users: If you have a very recent transmitter, only the nightly builds of Deviation will work for you and it will be impossible to go back to the stock firmware until Walkera posts updated firmware on their site. If in doubt, ask on the forums first."

sorry I only speak English and gealic
what to do is begin again, so
1: delete the deviation files you already have on your PC.
2: download the corrext deviation 4.0.1 file here >> deviationtx.com/repository/Deviation-Rel...on-devo8-v4.0.1.zip/ and extract the contents
3: connect your transmitter to the pc and power it up while holding the ext button.
4: start the walkera dfuse software, and on the firmware tab flash the file called > deviation-devo8-v4.0.1.dfu by selecting it in the 'file' box and then pressing the upgrade button
5: turn off your transmitter, then while holding the ent button power on your transmitter.
6: open the drive that is your transmitters USB drive and back up your models. then delete everything on the drive.
7: copy the files and folders from the extracted folder onto your transmitters USB drive, copy all apart from
deviation-devo8-v4.0.1.dfu
debug-devo8-v4.0.1.zip
8: reboot your transmitter.
9: copy back your models files, and when trying to bind with your v120d02s make sure you have the protocol set as 'devo' and the fixed I'd deleted. also reset your reciever so it will accept a different fixed I'd.
10: after trying this post back explaining what happens

Do you use fixed id on those models when you bind them to the DEVO 10?
Because the with fixed id a model can be bound to only one tx, however the auto binding should work...

if the receiver has bound with the devo 10 you MUST RESET THE RECEIVER FIXED ID and that doesn't mean just switch it off and on

Since the Devo8 cannot turn off even with the original software, assuming it was loaded correctly, I believe we have a hardware problem here.

Doesn't this happen too if the library is not reflashed together with the firmware?

Devo's have crappy power electronics which is known to fail in many ways. I have Devo 7 (not 7E) with exact same defect - turns off only when battery plugged off.

I vaguely recall that to reset the fixed id was non-trivial for some of the receivers, I am not sure that yours is the case.
WRT power-off - if original Devo software tries to debounce power-off button and it is very defective, it can fail to switch off. Deviation in contrast does not debounce this button (probably for this very reason) and turns off reliably.
So you may be have a really bad power switch.
