Devo 7e, missing multimod, nightly was created by norvik
Hi,
On my Devo 7e I had the range mod working with 4.0.1.
I installed 2x3 switches and tried to get the latest nightly(1.august) to work. Get error: Missing modules: Multimod when I turn on the transmitter.
Tried to edit the hardware.ini file in every possible way. Also left it unedited. Same result.
Used Dfuse and copy/paste the new files. Have checked all the soldering joints several times, looks good.
Everything works fine if I reinstall 4.0.1.
Would really like the 2x3 switches to work.
Have no other mods than the range mod and 2x3 switches on my TX.
Have read every post I could find on this and other sites. Can`t figure out what`s wrong.
Anybody got any idea?

Did you edit the hardware.ini the right way?
If yes, I can provide you with an older nightly (...for testing purpose and without KN)that I was using until september.
Switches and the diode mod are supported. But no multimod.
I am not shure if the multimod is supported on the 7e.

Hi,
I think it`s edited the right way. Even if I leave the file unedited I get the error message. The only mods I have is the range and hopefully the switch mod soon, so I don`t need a nightly who support multimod.
Would appreciate testing the earlier version.
As far as I understand the TX should work with the nightly and an unedited hardware.ini? (of course the switches wont work until hardware.ini is edited)

There is a change. Previously the PA was aktiv on the cyrf6936. Now on
the 7e it is off by default. So if no edit(even with range mod) > no pa.....
Testfile added.

Thanks aMax,
Just tested the files. Unfortunately it did`t work out. I still get the "missing multimod" screen when I turn it on.
Attached is my hardware.ini file. I think it`s edited the right way to get the TX working.
Just can`t figure out what I have done wrong.

Hello,
I had also problems with my 7E and 2 3-way switches. Maybe my hardware.ini will work for you

@norvik
You activated a second CYRF which is not installed!!!! (B12)
The switches (3x2) are not activated......
You really need to edit the file the right way....LOL
EDIT:
Take the file of horst and activate the pa .

Thanks,
Have tried to edit the file in every possible way. Still can`t get it to work. Now I have it edited like Horst(I think), but still no luck.
I`m sure you already understand that the computer side of mods is not my strongest side:-)

For the range mod>> has_pa-cyrf6936 = 1
Which version of firmware is on the tx now?
What kind of editor are you using for that edit?
Edit:
Are the diodes in the right direction to the switches?

I`m using the "until September" version you provided on the TX and I use Notepad++.
The diodes has the line nearest to the switch. Maybe my diodes are the wrong type? This is the diods I`m using:

Standart diodes. I used small fast switching diodes 1N4148.
Wiring looks ok.

Ok, I have already ordered 1N4148 diods. Will let you know if it solves my issue or not. Thanks.

it is version deviation-devo7e-v4.0.1-92e1705
My complete hardware.ini is shown in the attachment. I have the A7105 also installed.
I had also the missing module error. After setting
"has_pa-cyrf6936 = 0" it worked.

If you've followed the previous posts, and the diodes are right and the hardware.ini is right, they'll be there. They show up as SWA and SWB in the transmitter stick input menu.
If they don't show up its the wiring. Oh, maybe check that you're batteries are fresh, too.

I can't tell you anything about using the 1N4007 vs the 1N4148, except the 1n4148 is what I see that works every time. What I read about the 4007 leads me to think it could work, but I personally would use the most desirable components to fly my $300 birds.
As far as the file you're seeing, perhaps it makes sense to go through the flash process once more... If your run the DFU upgrade, then in USB mode reformat the drive, then copy over the file system, you'll have a fresh and totally complete installation. Make sure you backup any customized files before you start (if you have any).
And did I mention fresh batteries? If the batteries drain during your work, the flash writes may not work the way you want them to work.

Hi thank you for your answers
Please clarify ,if the switches are wrong wired or not wired at all Will influence that the new switches assignment Will not shown in the switches assignment Manu on the transmitter or just will not be working.
In my case in the switches assignment or mixer Manu there is no new SW

If the switches are wired wrong you probably won't see them in the switch assignment menus or on the Stick Input screen under Transmitter Menu ->Channel Monitor; if they are wired right but the diodes are wrong, IIRC they won't show up AND it seems to affect the trims.
Can you take a photo like the first one in post 27019 above? Maybe at least we can confirm the wiring.
