CC2500PA+LNA connection on Devo10 - for Frsky rx was created by stevecox
Please see the picture, I am trying to install A CC2500LA+PNA in a Devo 10 - are these connections correct? I have tried 2 modules, it shows up and I can select it in the tx with no asterisk, but I just cant get it to bind/work on a variety of Frsky receivers in either single or 2 way mode. I have cleared the FixedID in the model config beforehand. I have used the new nightlies mwm made available - deviation-devo10-v4.0.1-88fcdef & also tried the last nightly PB built -deviation-devo10-v4.0.1-92e1705. I have commented the A13 or 14 appropriately and set the has_pa-cc2500 = 1. I have formatted the filesystem and started with a clean copy from the build each time. It is the only module in the tx - other than the Devo one - and I have tried the TMS and also the TCK pins in the tx (setting A13/14 coreectly) to no luck. Before powering on I paid close attention to having the arial connected to the module. Any idea's?

Yes, according to circuit diagram of the multimod.
Btw, you will run into same problem if you install a A7105-D03.....

Thanks for the help thus far though I am not using the multimod. I only have this module and Devo10 module in the tx. So do I still connect the single CC2500 like this? Where will I find the circuit diagram for the multimod and if I am not using the multi-mod is that drawing still relevant? I looked in the "Documentation" and also in the "Downloads" section? In the "Multi-Module" section it seems you need to have extra software installed to see the schematic? Is there a jpg/png/pdf/similar somewhere?

Think by yourself, this is a two-way system and what will happen if you are
activating this at the same time by binding to VCC?
Binding PAEN to VCC and LNA_EN to GND would work too.One way.
But if you do this as your have been told, the software of Deviation will do it all for you.
BTW, if you bind even only one to VCC, the module will behave like he A7105-D03 and will not power down, while a different module is selected.
Then the PA will be always on...
Got it?
Edit: The Multi-Module is only for the management of the select line, for nothing else.

Thank you I will connect as you mention. I do apologize as I did not know what the connections PAEN, LNA_EN were used for. I am just a normal user of Deviationtx who would like to have Frsky ability. As it is shown in the table on page 10 of the "Module Installation" document it is shown that these connections should be connected to Vcc. There are no descriptions in the document for what GDOo and GDO2 do either or that they should even be connected anywhere. There is certainly nothing that mentions the way they should be:
PAEN >GDOo
LNAEN >GDO2
It's clear now though, much appreciated

I recently installed my cc2500pa+lna for Skyartec usage. Fitted it according to the pic in the first post. I'm running straight Deviation 4.01 - not nightlys.
Should I be wiring it according to the second pic (3rd post) as well? Then upgrade to the latest nightly?
Would this be causing my tx lipo to be discharging much quicker? Since fitting it seems to need charging more often.

We should remove the PDF (or at least document its "obsolete" status, and point people here instead:

See also bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/wiki/ModuleList/
and this bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/w...Devo7eModuleInstall/ if you have a Devo 7e, or this for everything else bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/wiki/Devo8ModuleInstall/

This....
I assume it´s this one..
www.skyartec.com/ProductShow.asp?ArticleID=1977
Different appearance but same connections. If you revise your module installation, you must go with the nightly, because 4.0.1 does not contain the proper code for this wiring.

I tried it in my 8s and didn't get it working, this tx has a V911 module on TMS pin and CC2500 on TCK pin. I tried the last nightly from PB and the one from mwm in his Gmail drive, updated the hardware.ini for both modules but no luck. The module was soldered a few times before whilst double and triple checking my wiring - I may have damaged it. The links robca provided especially
bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/wiki/ModuleList
is what I needed to start with
The pdf I used first should be removed, the connection table is incorrect in it. I really appreciate the help, its a LOT clearer now!

You already had one module installed? Didn´t tell us about that,....how is this wired?
I hope, you did n´t power up the new one without antenna.

Before I was trying in my Devo10 but needed that for flying later in the day. So after you put me on the right track I had a go at putting the CC2500 in a Devo8s I have that already has a working A7105-V911 module in it connected per the wiring on the modules link, wired to the TMS pin. The CC2500 I wired in per the modules page to the TCK pin. So there are the 2 modules in the 8s, A7105-V911 and CC2500 connected as per the modules link page. I was VERY careful at all times to check the arial is connected before power up. This is what it currently looks like. I have V911 on A13 and CC2500 on A14 with has_pa on each = 1 in the hardware.ini.
