NEED HELP: Syma X5C-1 Setup with Devo 7E was created by 30secs
Hey all,
I've just finished installing the NRF24L01+ module. Before that i've installed the official deviation firmware, and the nightly as well. I found a couple syma x5c-1 models and added them too.
I turn on the tx now trying to bind but it doesn't. I have no idea what else i need to do.. what am i missing?!?
can someone please help me get this quad off the floor i am getting insane here...

Have you edited the hardware.ini file to enable the nRF module?

Are you sure your Quadcopter it's an X5C-1? Could be the old original version X5C?
If your Quad is the old X5C version, you need to enable the Sub-Option X5C under SymaX protocol.

Hi durete. I am positive. What else can I check?
I've been reading your and others posts for the past two weeks and this is my first time trying this. Does it auto bind or do I need to config anything on the tx in addition to the model? How do I make sure it's using the right protocol?
Also, is there a way to check that the nrf module is working properly?

The nightly builds that include the SymaX protocol also will show the Missing Module dialog if the nRF is enabled in hardware.ini but deviation can't read from it. You removed the semicolons on the nRF lines of that file as well as setting the values?
If the symax (or any nRF) protocol in your model has a leading asterisk it indicates a problem with the nRF module.

I formatted the drive, reflashed, and installed the nightly and used the model below. it worked!!!! woohooooo
only thing is when i raise the throttle the quad immidiately banks hard to the right. i tried it with the JJRC H8C quad with same result. Any idea what's causing this? I've calibrated the tx 5 times. Maybe i'm not calibrating it right or does it need a config change?

Can you keep it level with stick inputs? Does the quad have an auto-level calibration procedure?

I don't see your model.ini posted here, attach it if you're still having problems.

Yes if I bank hard the other way it stayed stable but as soon as I let go it banks hard. I've also tried trimming which didn't work. The syma x5c1 and jjrc h8c both have standardizing gyros, and both ate having the same issue (as well as the syma x11), which made me realize it's not a model setting but a tx issue.

Yes. About 10 times. Is there a wash to calibrate it? It seems every time I try to calibrate it gets out of whack in a different way

Does anyone have an idea? It keeps banking or studying regardless of how many calibrations. Sometimes it even changes when the quad lands.
Could it be an nrf wiring problem? What else could it be?

How does it fly with the stock tx?
Does the aileron channel look correct in the channel monitor? Zero when the sticks are centered and symmetric travel?

Hi hexfet, the stock tx with my quads fly fine. It's when i try to use the Devo it banks hard or does other non-stable alighnment. It does it with all the quads (syma s5c, jjrc h8c, syma x11).
checked channel monitor, after calibration --
aileron neutral: -23
left: 35
right: 59
Sometimes i get 60 even, then after a few minutes it changes.
Also, when i push right, the numbers flicker sometimes, they don't stay fixed.
Could it be a soldering issue? Which connection controls aileron on the PCB/nrf module?

That behavior seems like a hardware issue. Maybe with the roll potentiometer or its connections. Does the stick input screen show the same behavior?
The interface to the nRF module is digital - all the channel data goes over the same connection. It's very unlikely a problem there would only affect roll.
