I have stumbled upon a great deal on a DEVO 7, not 7e, I know there are differences, and the post i read had said the 7 is not supported, however it said the 7e wasnt also, the post was old, so is the 7 now able to run deviation? If so im jumping on the deal!

Well, quick question, I have a buddy who badly needs a 2.4ghz raadio, is there any way that DSM2 may be implemented without any crazy hardware mods, such as, using an arduino mini,to run the protocol, and a switch to change between stock protocol, and dsm2?

A homebrew is probably possible using the trainer port. You could check hobby king and see if they have DSM2 modules that'll plug into the phono jack. Honestly, the Devo7 has a decent chassis (same as devo10) but is a terribly designed radio, and I would stay clear. I think its only value is to use as spare parts for a Devo10.

Yeah the home brew is what I had in mind, thats what I did for my father, I bought him a 9xr, because he was stuck on how spektrum was most superior, so i nuil a DSMX module from a spektrum DX5 and know hes in love with the 9xr and openTX, and I would like to get into the devo world also, but this Devo7 would be for a buddy whos using 35mhz like there no difference!!! its $20 for it and is in good shape.

Devo 7 interface is weird - it has segmented LCD which is hard to interpret for me. The build quality seemed to be OK on the first sight, but mine had power defect and refused to power off :-) So if you're not deviating it (and you can't with Devo 7), it's not the best choice.

Are you in the U.S.? Is this a buddy of yours selling it? I'd take a D7 for $20.
