Reinstalling Walkera Devo 7e firmware

Hi, this question might have been answered before, but I could not find it. The reason I want to go back to the original firmware, because its manual is more detailed and comprehensive than the Deviation manual. Please do not take me wrong. As I am totally new to this modern TX, I have to relearn many things. After I have mastered it then I will go back to deviation 4.01 and modify my TX.

I have bought the 7e 2nd hand, already has Deviation on it. I have been looking for the firmware every where but I could not find it.

Thanks for your help.

Official Walkera firmware is here: >>> walkera.com/en/upload/radio/ <<<

www.walkera-fans.de has some more up to date firmware for certain radios than even Walkera has listed on their official site. You can find it as a zip file under >Downloads(far right column)>Sender>Devo7E

DEVO 10 - Multi-module with nRF24L01 +PA +LNA, A7105 +PA, & CC2500 +PA +LNA transceivers.
Nightly Build: v4.0.1-548bbf5 (6/9/2015)

Hi, perhaps you can help me here. I download the zip file, and there are two file in it, one is "DEVO-7E Fw v0.2.dfu" and the other is "DEVO-7E Lib v0.1.dfu". Which one should I use, or do I use the 2nd one first and the first one after it, becuase the 2nd is bigger than the first.

I'm not sure, I have a DEVO 10.
I would assume that you flash the F/W first, and then load the library. ......but as I said, not sure about that.

RedSleds is right.
From the FAQ:
"HELP! I can't put the original firmware back!
First take a deep breath. I haven't seen a single case that we couldn't resolve. Next go get a new copy of the firmware from Walkera. We need to ensure you are starting with a clean firmware so even if you are sure you've just done this, do it again.

Next use the Walkera DFusE tool to 'Upgrade' (do NOT use 'Upload'!) the firmware onto your Tx. Go to the 'Library' tab, and again 'Upgrade' (NOT 'Upload') the library. Power off the Tx and you should be good to go."

An alternative to the Walkera DFusE tool is the Deviation java (cross platform) installer (DeviationUpload-0.8.0.jar) which you can get from
deviationtx.com/downloads-new/category/161-dfu-usb-tool
Using that tool, you can install the .zip file directly without decompressing it. The tool takes care of putting everything in the right place at the right time.
If you experience driver issues in Windows, try using the DFU USBDrv Installer-1.1 tool from the same source location.

The file, "Deviation Uploader-0.8.0.jar" is a Java program or application or "app" in today's parlance. As such, you don't install it. It simply resides on your hard drive somewhere of your choice. Put it on the desktop or in a folder somewhere where you can find it in the future. In order to use this Java app, you need to have the Java Runtime Environment installed on your computer. You can get that from Oracle, the developer of Java:
java.com/en/download/
Download to your computer and install it. Then follow these steps:
- Connect your Devo directly to your PC using the USB cable. Do not use a USB hub.
- Double-click the icon for the Java application, "Deviation Uploader-0.8.0.jar" to run it.
- On the Devo, hold down the Ext button and turn on the Tx.
- In a few moments, your Devo should show up as the Transmitter at the top in the installer window
- The "Install/Upgrade" tab should be active
- Click the "..." button on the Firmware line.
- Browse to the location of the Zip file for the Walkera firmware .zip file you downloaded and click on "Open".
- Check the box for "Format" if it is not ghosted.
- Click the "Install/Upgrade" button
- Agree to format the drive if prompted.
- Wait till the installer finishes.
This procedure should overwrite anything you've done previously and put things right.

Doesn't he also need to install the library? Or does the Deviation Uploader do that automatically in this case?

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

The Deviation uploader does it automatically (automagically!) Very convenient.

Thank you all for your help. Where I got stuck is when DeFusE says "The file does not have correct format", I think I need the original File, what I have and trying upload is just the update to the original firmware.

When you go to Walkera site, it seems they have never heard of Devo7E TX, other sites which point to the firmware are all dead.

After you download, you have to extract the .zip file to get the .dfu files.

I use exact the same prorame and files you use.
I try to reproduce your problem. I can load the dfu file without any problem. When i ty to load the zip file i get the same message.
Is it possible you try to load the zip file?
other wise i would not know why it does not work for you.
