Pitch & Throttle Curves in Standard GUI on Devo 10 was created by jbewley
Being new to all this I have a question. From what I have read -100 = 0 and +100 = 100%. So is 0 = 50%??
How do I get a pitch of -6??
Thanks,
Jim

yes that's correct
that depends on your heli's setup, linkage length, servo horn length, diameter of swash etc etc, so it's impossible for us to guess. so to set up a cp heli properly what you need is a pitch gauge, then you can fix the pitch gauge to the heli's blade and then adjust the pitch curve until the desired stick position gives you -6º

That does not make sense. I should be able to program positive or negative pitch from the tx.You can with other tx's.

For pitch I would say that -100 = -100, 0 = 0, +100 = +100?
All channels in deviation go from -100 to +100 for consistency, whereas in many (most?) other TX some are labeled -100 to +100 and some are 0 to +100, even though they spit out the same range of values. For things that went 0 to 100 in the original settings, you need to transpose to the -100 to +100 mindset, but for those that originally had negative values (such as pitch) it should be a straight transcribe AFAIK
-6 in the pitch curve, as opposed to -6 degrees?

Thank you very much. That makes if much more understandable.

yes of course you use the tx programming to adjust the pitch, but without a pitch gauge there is no way to work out if -30 or -55 or whatever value on the pitch channel gives -6º pitch

Well you can do this approximately.
First check your maximum +- pitch and adjust it correctly within your FBL system or TX pitch scale+- channel (for flybar/paddle helis you instead of use CCPM120 mixer collective for that).
-100 pitch curve = max negative pitch
+100 pitch curve = max positive pitch
0% = 0/zero degree pitch
100 12 (according to pitch gauge or mathematical calculation and measing blade length and two blade distances)
75 9
50 6
25 3
0% = 0 degree / zero pitch
-25 -3
-50 -6
-75 -9
-100 -12
This might get you started approximately - at least I do it like this.
But of course first you need to correctly mechanically adjust zero pitch at 0%.
Then you need to correctly adjust for -12/+12 or -14/+14 degree min/max pitch to match -100/+100.
Then you can play around with your pitch curve.
