Help setting up a v-tail was created by jacklscott3
Hey guys,
I haven't pulled out my Devo 8 in a while, so I'm kind of rusty with using deviation firmware. I need to set up a v-tail but my pc has crashed so I can't just load a template. My MacBook can not be used for That purpose right? If my MacBook won't load a template, can anyone help me setting up a vtail manually?
Basically the throttle and aileron will be normal, but I need to set up 2 servos to operate the elevator and rudder channel.

Sorry, figured it out!
For anyone who might run into a similar problem, here's how I set mine up:

First on the rx, I have mine set up like so:
Ch1-AIL
Ch2-ELE (back right tail servo)
Ch3-Thr
Ch4- RUD(back left tail servo)

On the TX
1.load a 4 ch dual rate template
2.go to the mixer menu and select ch2-ELE, change it from d/r to complex. Then while in the ELE complex menu go to page 2.
On page 2:
-change "switch" from (ELE DR1) to (none)
-change "source" from (ELE) to (RUD)
-change "scale" from (60) to (100)
And the most important thing..
-change "Mux" from (Replace) to (add)

Then go to ch4- RUD and repeat the same changes, the only difference will be on page 2 of the Rud, the "source" will now be (ELE) and the scale will be (-100)

You may need to reverse channels to get everything working correctly, but following these instructions will at least get you started.
You may want to do some research on optimal rudder deflection for v-tails, bc the setup I just listed doesn't take that into account.
