Came here specifically to post this.
It seems to have a four-chip multimodule setup similar to the Devo/Jumper, but there's no mention in the description of DeviationTX and they say it has 255 model memories, which makes me think they're running their own software. I like this thing's design, I like the price and I like that I don't have to pay for the genuine article's supertiny FPV screen that I'm overwhelmingly likely never to use - but I don't trust undocumented proprietary software with my quads' lives.
I'll be watching the reviews, and hopefully DeviationTX can be ported to it. If we get this Deviated I know what transmitter I'll be carrying in my FPV backpack for casual flights.

I'm in doubt it use Deviation, but I don't see any difference with Deviation devo7e-256 capabilities: 128x64 LCD, 6 buttons, 4 trims, 6 switches, 2 rotary knobs, USB drive, localized, virtual channels, 255 models and so on.
I don't like how rotary knobs positioned, they easily can be accidentally rotated with shoulder switch switching. And, it quite large, even bigger than Devo 8s.

iRangeX uses Open TX. Surely someone noticed that.

Can you share, where does this info come from?
All the text (like for example the virtual channels) suggest usage of deviation, but the only drawing about the fw (probably the main page) is not alike...

Even more than that, the description of features is a 95 % copy of the
deviation homepage

But they start with 30 models...
what a surprise..
You can even have this amount of models on your devo, but I am too lazy to prebuild such an amount of files, so I end up with 60.

Haven't looked into the details but I think the serial interface might be based on PXX from what I've seen in forum posts. Not sure if the link is in OpenTX code or a lua script. Maybe telemetry to OpenTX is supported too.

If you're referring to the IRangeX multimodule, that's just a commercialized DIY-Multimodule. That project has added a serial interface and with OpenTX the protocol can be selected. So it's possible they could be using the multimodule inside with OpenTX. But the description sure sounds like Deviation.Iroquois wrote: iRangeX uses Open TX. Surely someone noticed that.

According to BG, it's DeviationTX based
(maybe the 255 config files supported is false)

...but the desciption says >" model memory: 30."
How many models are supported on Deviation? I am quite sure 254 are possible,...if someone does the job
.
Hence no difference.

AFAIK deviation had a theoretical limit of model files at 255, but that includes the template files as well, so it is actually less then 255.
If I remember well we limited it to 200.
There is only 30 ini files by default, but you can make more, just be sure the numbering is continuous...

Model limit is exactly 255 for Nightly Builds (200 for v5.0.0).
int model_count()
{
int num_models;
for (num_models = 1; num_models <= 255; num_models++) {
sprintf(tempstring, "models/model%d.ini", num_models);
FILE *fh = fopen(tempstring, "r");
if (! fh)
break;
fclose(fh);
CLOCK_ResetWatchdog();
}
num_models--;
return num_models;
}
