I'm in the same boat with my radio......its in RAW format. I have tried everything I can think of. Tried Linux fdisk and even bought a format utility, but o luck.

It looks like flash memory chip can't be writed. It can be faulty flash memory chip or chip connection issue. I think T8SG has the same connections as Devo F4 (F7):

With Devo F4 it can be (pin connections from SST25VF032B to STM32F103RBT6):
1. CE = SPI1_CE (PB2, pin 28)
2. SO = SPI1_MISO (PA6, pin 22)
3. WP = 3.3V (VDD_4, pin 19)
4. VSS = GND (VSS_4, pin 18)
5. SI = SPI1_MOSI (PA7, pin 23)
6. SCK = SPI1_SCK (PA5, pin 21)
7. HOLD = 3.3V (VDD_4, pin 19)
8. VDD = 3.3V (VDD_4, pin 19)

Check flash memory chip soldering and traces. It's 8-pin chip to the left from MCU. Check connection for pin 1 (chip select) and 3 (write protect, has to be connected to pins 7 and 8, =3.3V).

Thanks again vlad_vy,

I am going to the distributor later, see if they can do anything for me 1st (They'd better). If can't, then I will open up and check the continuity between the pins.

If the flash chip is damaged, can I just buy a new chip and solder it in?

Seems like a easy solution

I doubt that this is the solution for all.
On my 7e the whole 2MB backup( Walkera firmware) could be writen in DFU mode and be saved thereafter to compare.
But no formating after the Deviation firmware flash until the file system part was revised.
Since then the transmitter works as usual like the four
years before that mishap

But try......

Edit : Any feedback will take my attention.

Well boys and girls, I have success. Can't 100% say what my fix was, but applied a little heat to the flash chip with the solder iron and a small amount of solder for good measure. Then used Windows Disk Management tool to delete the volume and then formatted the flash in Disk Management.

Mine is now alive after 2 plus weeks of being dead!

My problem now seems after loading the nightly build and file system on the screen seems fine, but after a few seconds/minutes the characters on the screen go unreadable.

Any thoughts?

A lot of the time your drive will have hidden items. If you click to show hidden items it should pop up.

Similar problem with IrangeX IR8m, but the build with bulk flash memory erase didn't fix it. The disk is not recognized by PC. Thanks

Hi, did you resolve the issue? I just did the same thing! I did a backup of the original firmware before I did the new fw update hopefully that may help? I dont know what steps to take. I unfortunately chose the wrong update as did you. I have the t8sg v2 plus but chose the t8sg v2 instead. Radio is now stuck in usb mode.

Just reflash with t8sg_v2_plus firmware, and don't forget to copy over filesystem. Or use Java deviation_uploader and do full install with the zip file.

Try to flash custom build, run it once and try to format USB drive.

Go back to the drive window and make sure you have clicked to show "Hidden Drives". It will be there. Mine was. Then proceed.

Hello, I've the same problem, I was persisting to do the upgrade with the erase build and after many times and try and error later it was succesfull. But, now I'ts the same problem here again. First after the upgrade was succesfull and I was copying the files onto the drive I've had several times needed to copy all of the content. Here are several problems and errors about copying some files. Finally all of the files are copied but on the next startup of the device the same problem was again overthere, all of the content was lossed and I need to redo all of that without succes. Please can anybody help me about this issue? Many thanks in advance and kind regards!

It looks like you have a problem with LCD. First, try to reseat LCD cable. Next, try to renew USB filesystem from firmware archive.
