T8SG PLUS v2

Dont kill me got my new T8SG v2 plus it has a couple protocols downloaded im wondering why i need to go into deviationtx ???? And what i need to do do i need to install the nightly build? And why? I know thats a dumb question but obviously im a rookie trying to learn so please help trying to connect to a QX65 with a flysky receiver it shows it in the RC but cant bind please answer all questions and leave the sarcasm out lol ive watched youtube for 2 days
