EDIT: new version based on deviation 3.0.0 4.0.1

This build needs a hardware mod described here . To use it you have to set manually a parameter "has_vibration=1" in the tx.ini file (after having done the mod, for sure). (Edit: not longer necessary)
It does not work for the Devo12 because the used output pin is in use there.
In the tx config there is a new option to switch vibration on or off (sets parameter in tx.ini accordingly).

EDIT:
Build for Deviation 3: see next post.

2nd EDIT:
Build for Deviation 4.0.1 attached here (unzip and flash). You will find a button on the third tx config page where you can switch vibrating off or on and test it (by pressing the button).

Corrected an error in initializing (if vibration was set off when the tx was switched on, it could only changed when the tx was switched off and on).
Here is the new version:

Hi RBE

Do you have the V3 with vibration source somewhere in a repo where I can get it and try to make a patch file that I can apply when we build PB's latest V3.x.x source files?

Yes, you can take it from my repo here: rbe-vibrating . I have sent PB a pull request (#55).

Hello,

Will the vibration work on V4. Or can somebody make a build with the vibration mod on V4?

I like the vibration feature on my Devout 8S especially in the winter time with a transmitter glove, where you don't hear the buzzer too good

Thx in advance

Btw, I am using a vibration motor from a cell phone, works great and is designed for 3V so just a transistor BC548 a 100 Ohms resistor and a diode...

Hi rbe2012,

would you be so kind and provide a version of the firmware 4.01 for the Devo 8s with the vibration feature?

Thanks in advance,
Dirk

Yep, I have seen your requests. I have lost it out of sight due to other priorities for a while, but I still have mounted the vibrating motor in my Devo8.
Time to get it rumbling!

Ok, I have updated the first post with the new build. Attached here you can find the patch file (patch -p 1 -i diff_Vibration_4.0.1.txt).
Some gui elements have changed since 3.0 so I had to make it completely new, but there are only a few changes.

The last thing I herad from this AUX4/AUX5-mod was "let's have some testing" ...
Do you thing it works now?
Have I provided a version for 3.0 or even 2.1.1? I don't remember.

I think I have lost what I have done before (since I did not find a patch file...). But I will surely be able to redo this.

Since adding a vibrating motor to a Devo8 is supported by the main deviation code in the actual nightlies no further patches are necessary.
AUX4/5 is not yet supported.
