It's not not cheap 70 Euro for this board - but i have paid 150 Euro for one of my F12E - the other is the "B" version - and i have ordered now 2 Boards "A". If am was so silly to damage 2 boards in one night - than i can not prevented from loosing some money :/
I have found one person via "Ebay - Kleinanzeigen" who have a look on the my ruined boards - maybe he is able to repair - and he seems to be able to solder/unsolder the new boards - if its possible to repair one of the old boards i can decide what to to with the new ones.

Hi, I've been looking at doing this mod, but I'm finding various different versions of the SST25VF032B chip in my search, 66mhz or 80mhz, SOIC or WSON?
I think this chip is the correct one, could someone confirm this please.

It looks like correct one. I can't say about frequency, since I can't see such small numbers by my old eyes.

@DIGGIDY:
The SOIC version is the one you need, it has legs for soldering. The WSON version has solderpads on its side/underside (not BGA), so depending on its fit on the solderpads of the transmitter it could be a nicer finish. But I think this is for very experienced soldering skills and tools.
For clock frequency, the original flash chip has a maximum frequency of 33Mhz, so as long as the new chip has an equal or higher maximum frequency it will be ok.

Thanks for the info, that clears things up for me, also the SST25VF032B chip is no longer being manufactured and looks to be superseded by the SST26VF032B version according to the Microchip.
SST25VF032B
SST26VF032B
The later chip has a higher Clock Freq @ 104mhz, so this should still work, I may just buy them both and try the later chip first.

That one looks good, as it also is announced by microchip as the official successor of the previous one.
Please let us know if it worked! (or didn't.. hopefully not^^)

I don't think it will work, status register is different.
"Microchip SST26VF032B - not fully supported, block protection needs work"
At any case, different flash memory will need different build.

Would this be a simple code change? Would it not be better to support the newer SST26VF032B rather than the obsolete SST25VF032B ?
I'm struggling to find any in the UK, all major component suppliers are out of stock and quoting the SST26VF032B as the replacement item. I've managed to find some on eBay, but I can image them becoming more difficult to source.

Sorry, forget to add default icons to filesystem. Not very nice icons, but better than nothing.

Indeed, SST25VF032B is depreciated and the successor is
not register compatible
.
From scanning through code and plenty of data sheets I think we should recommend a different replacement flash memory which also comes in 150 mil SOIC packaging eliminating the pin bending:
Since code for flash type auto-detection OS already written we could also recommend any of the three and add the small code changes necessary for Cypress and Adesto chips .

- ISSI IS25LQ032B : It should be compatible to IS25CQ032 which is already supported in the current code: Unfortunately it seems not to easy to get, the only bigger distributor who has it in stock is Mouser
- Adesto AT25SF321 : very small code addition necessary, but still the same problem of availability
- Cypress S25FL132K : very small code addition necessary, seems to be widely available (Mouser, DigiKey, RS components, Farnell to name a few)

Yesterday I've installed to DevoF12E-4MB 4in1 module, so now I have a fully fledged DevoF12E-4MB. It was the difficult task to solder wire to MCU pin (pin 89, B3). But as always it was successfully.

Do you want me to move your posts with these icons there?

Will be nice if you can move post with icons.
They are not font based and not BPM. "BW icons for Devo F12E". It is PBM (P4) "Portable Bit Map" monochrome file format.
