R9 module with jumper T8SG plus v2

I am looki for a cheap way to good far with my radio, thought about getting the r9 module for my jumper T8SG plus v2. Will it work? Thanks.

I 'm traying to bind correctly R9M with jumper t8SG Plus with R9MM...
I updated Jumper with latest fw
I updated r9m (standard not 2019) with FLEX fw
I updated R9MM with FLEX fw
I didn't add wire for telemetry as said in the manual

In Model setup:
TX power: 10/25 mW
PPM In: none
PXX ( EU rx PWM out 1-8 RX telem OFF)
Fixed ID: 12
# Channels: 8

I can bind the RX I have green light fix on R9MM
but in betaflight I can't see any movement.
What I'm doing wrong?

I solved the issue, I uploaded the wrong RX firmware I had need the fport version FLEX
2019-02-13 190201 Fix the incorrect telemetry issue -> R9MM -> xxx_fport

i also have to put r9m 2019 with this radio,
I see that there are compatible firmware and others not,
which one is really working? and can I change the module settings via the radio menu?

Possible to get a guide on the process for getting the R9M working with T8SG v2? Looking at picking up an R9M 2019 version myself but can't find any info on the setup process.

today I was finally able to try to update the firmware of the radio, of the R9M 2019 and R9MINI module.

I used the FCC FLEX fport firmware, and nightly 2020-05-15 it WORKS!


Only you have to explain one thing to me: I always use a modified ftdi programmer, with diode and inversion, to program all frsky with sport updater. why doesn't it work with R9M 2019?
I had to use a FC with serialpasstrought.

Hmmm that's strange, Fport = Fport you would say. Maybe you're diode is just at the edge, maybe try two diode or different type? Myself I have original Frsky dongle.

I didn't think about this,
I was only thinking about R9M problem since it was the only one not to go ...
But what kind of diode would be optimal? then enough, otherwise I go out of theme

hardware modification, the wire that must be connected to the 3,5mm jack, is still necessary or with the new firmware no longer needed?

Make that two... have the R9m installed and ready to go, just need a working radio.......

T8sg plus v2 carbon

I have the T8SG Plus v2 and just recieved my R9M 2019 Edition today in the mail (Took 2 months to get here due to Covid). Should have a chance this weekend to install it and try it out. Will report back here with the results.

Confirmed that the R9 2019 Version works with Jumper T8SG V2 Plus. Flashed R9 and R9MM with ACCST FLEX firmware and did the telemetry mod on the Jumper as pictured here . Starting to rain so only I got a few minutes to test fly but it's responding as it should.

Everything is working perfectly except for failsafe. If I turn off the radio the quad just drops to the ground instead of returning home and I have it configured properly in iNav so not sure whats going on.

Hi DougS2K, how did you flash the R9M and R9MM? Did you have to use a Taranis radio or did you use the FrSky USB tool?
