a small spectrum analyzer screenshot.
we must first look at the trace that shows the real-time : other traces have not been reset
as expected, the module A7105-500m transmits only if The Protocol provides Hubsan is selected.
a small range test performed with room Hubsan X4, gave me an early loss of reception at 60 meters and 3mW selected. no problems at 10 mW

I did the mod from a v911 tx and it works great
just wondering wouldn t it be possible to solder the a7105 module antena to the devo8s one so we can get the same range with both ?
or will it create some kind of short / interference ?

you cannot short the antennas together. the antenna is impedance matched to the driver circuit and shorting 2 modules would change the loading.
You may be able to add a UFL jack and a 'real' antenna for the A7105, but I haven't tried it and have no idea how well it would work.

The blue/green/yellow wires, that go on those posts. There are 5. Do they go on the middle 3 posts? it looks to me that they do? if the posts go 1,2,3,4,5 from left to right, it looks like they are on post 2,3,4? Am I correct?
What specifically is the wire being used? I can find the module on ebay, what about the type of wire being used?
Also If I am unable to do this, if I pay for shipping both ways, is anyone willing to do this for me for a small fee?
thanks,
Sam

Hi, could you please clarify. Is that bridged pin 3 and 8 required on all of the A1705 modules or just a specific one? I've got "a" module installed and working fine - no range issues at all..

I do not understand why it is necessary to bridge 3 and 8
This indication does not appear in the doc PB and I have no problemswhith range
(1 mw : 30 meter ok with hubsan X4)
you have other information?

We had a number of reports on the 8s that the touch screen controller stopped responding after (any) A7105 module was installed. I believe it was traced to the A7105 module that output data on the SPI bus affecting the touch controller.
Edit: The Touch screen was not always affected. Normally after a few minutes or when clicking on the "Bind" or re-init button on a protocol using the A7105 module would make the touch screen freeze
I personally had this happen a few times, but since grounding pin 8 I had no further instances of a dead touch screen. It has nothing to do with range as far as I remember.
I then added this to the forum, it still needs to be added to the Module Installation manual:

thank you for accuracy
if I have problems with the touch screen or if I open my devo8 I probably will connect the bridge 3-8

In my case after bridge 3-8 the range increase a lot, but even before do this I could fly well. After 10-15 meters my v911 lost signal. Now I can fly with a V911 with around 50-100m (have to do more test, I did the modification yesterday). I have notice a better accuracy in the movements after bridge, but I have to test more to be sure...

Hi all! First post here.
I just bought a used Devo 8s that I plan on putting an A7105 module in so I can fly my V911's. My question is this:
Is it better to use the module off the Tx that came with my heli or buy one of these from eBay etc? The one in the Tx has the power amp but the pins are the long ones that go through the board, not the flat package.
Thanks!

I use the module from the rtf transmitter on my DEvo10 and devo7E, and didn't bother to remove the pins.
You just have to be careful and wrap it in shrink tube.
Or you could try to unsolder the pins all together, flux and solder wick makes wonders.

I don't believe using one or the other module will make a much difference, it is rather a question of whether you want to keep the original TX as backup/spare and have the money US$9 for the Ebay or AliExpress modules.

Thanks. Then I'm going to raid my Tx for the module. The goofy things are 12 to 15 dollars and the whole Tx is only 17 and the reason I'm doing this is the sticks on the RTF Tx, well, suck in my opinion.
I have another question about the install though. Using the eBay module the pictures show bridging pin 1 to 9 and it was posted to bridge 3 to 8. Does that need done on the V911 Tx module? If so, which pins would they be as it only has 6?

For the V911 module you use the V911 row in the table to determine which module pins go to which Devo pins.

Ok, thanks. Now I think I get it. Pin 5 on the V911 module is both 3 & 8 on the eBay module so they are internally tied together with nothing to do externally. The same with 6 which is 1 & 9. I looked at the chart over and over...
My 8s will be here tomorrow, don't want to fry it the first day.
