Swashplate issue, T-Rex 450 SE, DEVO 10, RX1002

Hi,
I am noob for programming Deviation... but I am trying hard ;-)
This a good old T-Rex 450 SE, DEVO 10, RX1002, Deviation v3.
Changing to Mode 2 or Mode 3, both swash and throttle is working properly.
Mode 1 (hover mode) messes up the swash, becomes unparallel...

What am I doing wrong? I just want to set up a bog standard T-rex...

Please help :unsure:
(nevermind the low power - this is only while I'm programming to get longer battery life and less waves...)

Thanks,
bm

Hi billmester,
Look at your ini file :
[virtchan1]
template=expo_dr
[mixer]
src=AIL
dest=Virt1
curvetype=3point
points=0,50,100
smooth=1
[mixer]
src=!AIL
dest=Virt1
switch=FMODE1
[mixer]
src=!AIL
dest=Virt1
switch=FMODE2

[virtchan2]
template=expo_dr
[mixer]
src=ELE
dest=Virt2
curvetype=3point
points=0,50,100
smooth=1
[mixer]
src=!ELE
dest=Virt2
switch=FMODE1
[mixer]
src=!ELE
dest=Virt2
switch=FMODE2

As you can see, the AIL & ELE SRC are inverted in FMode 2&3 not in FMode1.
So all is normal :whistle:

Devo 10 (+7e) owner. It's mine, please don't touch it with your big fingers :angry:

Thanks - that helped... now the swash moves well in mode 1 too... but...
still, the issue remains.

Some more details:

-I have calibrated the servos and levelled the swash in mode 2. I wrote that part 1st... that is why. It works perfectly by the book in mode 2 and 3.

-Now, after the correction, the swash moves well, the throttle rises and lowers it uniformly, turns well too, but the moment I switch it to mode 1, it loses the horizontal setup and jumps into a tilted position. Mode 1 uses this tilted position as a baseline... but apart from this, the movements are by the book in mode 1 too.

WHY??? What is this?

Thanks for the repiles... the bird is ready to fly...

The config look a little bit strange for me.
The mixers for Virt1 and Virt2 (AIL/ELE servos) do not what they might be intended for. The setup in the ini file in one for a complex mixer (where you can select sources for each mixer page), not an EXPO/DR one (where you have only one source).
How did you create this config? Did you edit the ini-file or have you configured it with the gui? In the second case I would expect a bug, but I know the model saving code quite well and this should not be the case.
Try changing the "template=expo_dr" to "template=complex" and look if this changes anything.

Hi,

I have created this from scrach, plainly with the GUI. I do not even know how the virtuals got in there??? ;)

I have managed to "fix" the problem, changed the 3-point to 1-to-1 with ELE and AIL. I even test flown the bird, all fine! The only problem is I do not understand WHY and HOW it works now... but it works...

So what I was trying to achieve with this config:
-stock (by the manual) throttle curve, 3-way.
-matching 3-way pitch range, 0-11 deg hover, -9 to +9 3D range (just for fun, not to use for now)
-throttle hold, put this in the throttle mixer
-3-way gain setting (CH7), two fixed + one variable (for setup) with AUX5 pot
-slow mo gear on Ch9 (for the Airwolf body)

This way my first try... now it flies pretty well... at least...

If anyone has a more professional .ini file, or if you know how to make my .ini better, please share.

I have attached the latest.

Thanks for all of you,
bm

(oh, if you just happen to have an Airwolf icon for Devo 10... please share B)) I am low on icons... any kind of icons...
