FrSky On a Devo 12S was created by Noel
Good morning every body.
From Nice, France. So please, excuse my -sometime- very bad english langage.
Searching on the forum with the keyword : "FrSky", i found two topics.
The first is : Frsky compatibility
The second : Extra inputs for Devo Tx's
Is it possible to add FrSky protocol to a DEVO 12S already operating in deviation 4.0.1 (january 2014). I would like to forget the Spektrum protocol, changing for the FrSky one.
I recently bought the combo XJT/X8R (american one, more powerful than the european one). My purpose was to use it with an old EURGLE updated in ER9X (it seems to be the last update with a number 658).
I am intensely close with my DEVO 12 S.
So please : 1) is it possible to add this FrSky protocol to my DEVO 12S ? 2) Hardware or SoftWare ? 3) The purpose is to use my Devo with the ppm sum protocol for an APM 2.8 ?
If yes, links for all please.
Thanks for reading.
Regards

You have at least one problem.
1.The X8R has no PPM output...only PWM and SBUS.
2.To keep the XJT legal, you will have to use the EU.V1.81 firmware and this does not support D8 mode...
Hence you are not able to use e.g. a D4R-II , D8R-XP...
3.Deviation does not support the X protocol.

amax, many thanks for your help,
1) For the X8R, you are right, but I can change X8R for a D4r or frsky x4r receiver.
2) I don't care about legal system or not. Even if it is forbiden, i use a 100 mw, 915 mHz 3DR telemetry, 600 mw VTx 5.8gHz, a.s.o. Nobody in France try to check strength or frequency of our Tx or VTx. We hope it last.
3) what does mean your Nb 3. Deviation does not support the X protocol ? What does mean "X protocol" ?
So please : is it possible to put in a devo12S by the mean, of hardware or software, something which will transform my deviation / or devention DEVO12S in an FrSky Tx., for which kind of Rx ?
Regards.
