Thanks for all your work on this. Really like the LQI indicator and have it set with an alarm on my Devo 10. When flying FPV, though, it would be great to have the LQI on the OSD. I saw that with the updated Flysky i6 firmware you can set an auxiliary channel to "error" and when using iBus (I'm using an iA6b receiver) select that channel in Betaflight and it will display RSSI on the OSD. Is it possible to have that same function with our Deviated transmitters?

Here's a page with some info on the i6 firmware mod with RSSI setup github.com/benb0jangles/FlySky-i6-Mod-/issues/17

I use the same trick on the Taranis, but Deviation doesn't allow a telemetry value as a channel source, at least for now.

Still ... I can add it as a protocol option, it's on my list ;)

@AirPatoine, here's a test build for Devo 10 with a new protocol option: LQI output, you can select on which channel, Ch5 to Ch12, take care, it overrides the mixer settings for this channel, obviously.
www.dropbox.com/s/tptm8wufk9tput0/deviat...0.0-06a3d3f.zip?dl=1

LQI 100% = 2000 µs
LQI 90% = 1900 µs
...
LQI 50% = 1500 µs
... and so on

Please report :)

Works great. I chose channel 8 on my Devo 10 for LQI. Using cleanflight it showed up on channel 10 (Aux 6 I think it was). Then went into MWOSD and set it up to display RSSI from flight controller and there it was!

I tested it by walking away from my quad and checking the LQI numbers on my Devo and on my OSD. They weren't always the same, but never off by more than five. If i stood still they would usually match up, or be only one number different.

Just finished a test flight and was able to confirm where the bad spots are. LQI numbers dropped when I went too far or into an area where there is known interference. I was able to turn around before the numbers dropped too low.

I've gotten great range out of my iA6b receivers. Much better than others I've tried. They are just a cheap and reliable option. Now with RSSI info on the OSD I have everything I need.

Thanks Goebish for all your work on this.

Thanks for testing, I'll try to understand why it showed up on channel 10 (AUX6) instead of 8 (AUX4) ...

Ok, I think I see the mistake ... are you sure it showed up on AUX6, not AUX5 ?
This is important to get it right as it overrides the mixer settings ...

Ok, I understand why it "drifted" 2 channels away ... fixing.

Yes, I just double checked. I have RSSI input on channel 10 in cleanflight and the signal is showing up on Aux6.

I'm not too worried about it. It's working great for me. Only two test flights so far, but gives me the info I need.

Loaded the new build, but now I am not getting any info on channel 8 or 10. In the protocol I have selected channel 8 for LQI. In cleanflight I selected channel 8 for RSSI, but I am just getting constant values of 1500 on AUX4 and Aux6

That did it. LQI is on channel 8 (AUX4). I'll do some more flying tomorrow and let you know if there are any issues, but I think it is good to go. Thanks again!

Thought I would share something I tried that worked that may be of interest to someone. I normally fly with a tgy-i10. I also have a devo 7e and a couple 9x tx's running er9x. I had planned on buying some a7105 modules so I could mod the devo and 9x to have afhds-2a compatibility. My local hobby shop was clearancing ia6b rx's for $5 each so I bought 5. I desoldered the rf module from the ia6b and installed it in the devo and ran Goebish's code. It works great on both the devo and 9x, with telemetry, dual antennas with full range, and as a bonus, the remaining, unused portion of the receiver still functions and can be used as a stm32 breakout / dev board.
I've never posted in a forum before but have benifited so much from this one I felt compelled to try and contribute. Thank you to all who have put this together!

How do you know dual antennas being activewhen connecting the module into deviation? As I assume there is no switching either one will do all the work used in Tx?

To be honest I don't know that they are both being used currently. I have so far only tested the functionality as if it were a standard a7105 module. I do know on my tgy-i10 in factory mode I can enable or disable the tx antennas individually which uses the same exact module I removed from the ia6b. What I don't know yet is whether A: the a7106 chip natively contains the handling of the dual antennas and the tgy-i10 processor is sending a comand to turn them on or off, or B: the control is native to the processor of the tgy-i10. Probably could have read the a7106 datasheet and found out in the time it took me to write this but I will investigate and report back. Keep in mind I am quite the novice when it comes to software as well as the hardware. Its just a self taught hobby for me.

The switcher is controlled by the i10 MCU (or RX MCU), not by the A7106 itself, I've no idea what's the behavior when using the module standalone without controlling this ... I'll check that someday.

Goebish, will the LQI work with SBus, PPM and PWM too for Cleanflight/Betaflight? I really like having LQI on the OSD and am thinking about switching receivers on some of my other quads, but the main one I am thinking about doesn't have iBus.

Also, will it work with any AFHDS 2A receiver? I'm looking at some of the micro receivers like the FS-RX2A: www.banggood.com/2_4G-Compatible-FS-RX2A...tml?rmmds=mywishlist
