Ares is using hitec red usually which is on deviation hitec/minima.

I'm new to the jumper t8sg v2 in yellow with a small screen and trying to learn how to bind the mini gamma so I can fly. I found the hitec menu and I have both optima and minima but do I need to upgrade the jumper controller with new protocol as it's not binding and I'm trying freq change in steps of 10 on both opt and min with no luck yet and I'm close to the plane so any more help would be brilliant of you. On deviation fw version t8sg v2 v5.0.0 b08efa8 if any help to you. Many thanks for your time

According to the Transmitter Pairing section in the manual the throttle should be at minimum and stabilization switched off for binding. Without a capture from this specific model just have to guess at the stabilization control. Since it's only throttle/rudder/elevator controls (3 channels) try setting the model to 8 channels and fix channels 4-8 at -100. If that doesn't work try 0, and then 100 (because there are three settings for stabilization on the stock TX). Follow the procedure in the Transmitter Pairing section, which says to power the aircraft first for binding. If still not successful could also try with throttle channel reversed.
