Deviation 5.0 has been released was created by PhracturedBlue
I have released Deviation 5.0 after over 2 years of work by many different contributors. While it will look and feel very much like 4.0.1, there have been a huge number of changes across the board.
Note that while a lot of development has happened for the Devo F12e, F7, F4 and X9d, none of these were complete enough to be included in the 5.0.0 release. If you have an F12e, F7, or F4, you are welcome to try the nightly builds which do support these transmitters, although there are still many known issues (mostly related to the display)
Thanks everyone who has helped to get us to where we are now.

I'm sorry if you contributed and weren't included. there were a couple names I couldn't easily match to forum user Ids. Just let me know, and I'll give you due credit

A big thank you to all contributors and for sharing this incredible firmware, I have been a user since day one and couldn't imagine using my tx without Deviation...
Quick question...does 5.0 include the voice alerts build?

I already installed it on my two 6s and as soon as the weather plays along (I'm about to grow gills
), I will give it a thorough test.

No, 5.0 does not include the voice alerts code. That isn't ready. I've just ordered some of the speakers recommended for the Taranis, and now that 5.0 is out, should be able to get back to work on it. Not clear where I'll start, thought.

Now that 5.0 is out, I'd like to address the issue of a second automated build. New protocols get added fast enough that people move to the nightly build to get them, when the probably ought to still be using the release build. So automated builds from a branch with nothing but new protocols and possibly bug fixes would seem to benefit them.
Discussion at www.deviationtx.com/forum/7-development/...tomated-build-branch , please.

I played around with 200QX and 1-2 more models on V4.0.1, then older nightly-build, then newer nightly-build.
Model.ini files were not incompatible as far as I can tell. Might depend on setup.
What bug id are you referring to?
The AIL <-> ELEV channel bug which is known to me is for CCPM120 flybar helis but it is more Cyclic1<->Cyclic2 swapping instead of AIL/ELEV.
Different behavior for advanced mixer GUI, simple mixer GUI, FBL, CCPM120.
Hexfet and PhracturedBlue did not (yet) touch heli mixer C code, so in 5.0 release you have to fight with the same things as older releases/nightly-builds.
There are about 3-5 heli threads with more detail informations and linking two Mantis bug ids...
Update 17/09/2016:
Yes, there are still known heli issues - and also some new issues (not seen before) with the committed heli templates according to several posted threads after 5.0 rls: www.deviationtx.com/forum/6-general-disc...eased?start=60#53953
If you upgrade you would need to check all your models (correct servo movement, mixers) anyways...
It happend to me once that my heli cyclic servo was swapped normal<->reverse when I was playing with Indigos nightly builds and upgraded to one nightly-build.
YES, IMHO you really should upgrade from V4.0.1 release: www.deviationtx.com/forum/3-feedback-que...-nightly-build#46790
Make a model backup first!!

Any chance to support Futaba FASST protocol in the future release ? I saw that 5.0 supports Futaba FHSS protocol.

Futaba FASST use other RF chip (aside from cyrf6936, A7105, CC2500, nRF24L01), not supported by Deviation.
I don't know what is wrong with new user manual from User Manual section, but I can open it by Foxit Reader. Adobe Reader can't open it.

FASST = different chip; higher RX prices (vlad was faster). FASST != telemetry (FASSTest)
