Semtech brings some LORA modules with very good performances for range and reception level, I think the best currently available at the market.
There are several modules available on the web cheaply in several versions. (I understand but not sure it also used in TBS Crossfire system)

Maybe at some point it is time to start a "deviation open source", protocol and open hardware? Not reverse engineered?
As long as stock modules can be used there is not much hardware design needed, rather than maybe a regulator?
The rx could bea 1 pin sbus output? (From Sbus to pwm there are solutions)

If the link is open source we could update and focus on the link and best implementations on both sides, rather than hacking and having to del with excisting design. Maybe even we get flight controllers, with the module connected over SPI direct, not anymore bother with sbus etc. Maybe even will be more a telemetry link?

Haha anyway just brainstorming, wishfull thinking, for the "Future RC link".

I would love to see something like that. Not necessarily Long Range, a protocol that uses one of the current 4 modules supported by Deviation.
And about Rx output, could UART be feasible ? Or a Rx that plugs into the USB port of the FC (thinking of multirotors here) ?

For people who like to build a LRS system, I just stumbled on this blog, sending CPPM and MAVLINK using some Semtech LORA modules.

Anyone here who uses QCZEK LRS? It is bidirectional long range link.
Would be great if deviation could have lora module support for long range.

Lora is for low data rate application. Just look at the module and it seems the highest air data rate is only 19.2kbps.

Since it uses PPM there's not any reason you can't run it now. QLRS doesn't have a separate serial protocol like Crossfire.

Next to official systems: TBS crossfire and Frsky R9

DIY project QCzek LRS, is getting good reports, but more DIY projects are experimenting with lora modules:

github.com/iNavFlight/YALRS
github.com/RavenLRS/raven
quadmeup.com/quadmeup-crossbow-lrs-introduction/

I expect that lora will soon be new standard for long range instead of Silabs UHF chip.

Semtech modules and protocols are not yet supported, but indeed would love to get it, as it is bit of the new upcoming standard for longer ranges.....

Dear @Fernandez,
I using Devo10 with PPM out SIM port, but it so delay.
Did you know that, how to wiring out Sbus from Deviation Devo10 ?
I want checking sbus with lora TTL 1W.

Yes it is simple just connect to any Uart RX pin on flightcontroller, not the Sbus pin. (That is inverted)
Sbus originally from futaba is inverted, devo ppm output pin is uninverted.

Flash the test build from Hexfet, it will be inside nightlies soon.
Post results and discuss here.
