Hi
I have 7e 256 and R9M and R9M lite modules( elrs2.1). Can I use those? If so, which nightly should I use?
Thx

Might want to check the timing on the tip signal matches the bit rate you have selected for CRSF. And it looks strong with little noise? I'd stick with 400K bit-rate setting on CRSF until it's working. And 2.25M requires ELRS 3.

Thanks Hexfet for the quick reply. I am not using model match feature.

It is important information that Uart should be non-inverted on ELRS2.0. I am stuck with 2.0 because I have only SPI receivers. I have one regular receiver on the way, so I'll try with it as well once it arrives.

Do you guys have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thanks.

Most of the configuration looks fine to me. The UART setting needs to be non-inverted for ELRS 2. With ELRS 3 or later and a TX with an ESP32 processor the inverted setting doesn't matter .

Are you using the model match feature? If so try turning it off. Since the 7e doesn't have enough memory to support CRSF configuration it also can't tell the TX at startup time which model match ID to use. I don't know if the TX powers up with the model ID it was previously using or not.

Deviation doesn't have control of the expansion bay power pin. You should see a little less than battery voltage on the JR bay power pins whenever the radio is powered on.

Did the radio come with a standard build of deviation, or did Radiomaster make some changes? What version (including radio model) did you install?

Hi,

Despite many attempts I couldn't make ELRS TX module connected to DEVO 7E to bind with the receiver. I have:

- Happymodel ES24TX module
- SPI ELRS receiver built in BetaFPV 1-2S 12A FC
- I am using the latest "deviation-devo7e-v5.0.0-987234e" nightly build on Devo 7E.
- I've tried both ELRS 2.0 and ELRS 2.5.1 on TX side,
- on RX side it is ELRS2.0 I assume, since FC is flashed with Betaflight 4.3.0, official release
- I tried both UART inverted and not inverted option (don't know if it is important any more)
- On Devo7E CRSF protocol is chosen.
- Binding phrase is set on TX and it is also entered to SPI receiver using Betaflight CLI command (set expresslrs_uid =...)
- TX signal input is connected to tip point on DEVO 7E 3.5mm interface. It is also checked with oscilloscope and signal is present. LEDs in TX module are turned on, showing it is powered.
- The same TX module connected to Jumper T-Lite works fine with the same receiver

Do you guys have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thanks.

Have you enabled the external module in DeviationTX and can you put a multimeter on the pin to see if any are live? I can't remember if DeviationTX switches off power if the external module is disabled or not but this is something to check.

Have you modded the radio, assuming this is identical to the T8SGv2 then by default it doesn't support Crossfire or eLRS? Search for the CRSF mod. You should at least see the module power on or it's possible that the pins are damaged or simply not passing power to the module.

New modules?

Nothing newer than the 4-in-1.

Latest builds are under the link "[hexfet]nightly_build" on the Test Builds page . I'd give a direct link but it changes with every build. Which doesn't happen often these days.

I'm looking around and there's not a download of 5.0 for my F12e.
Does anyone know where all the downloads are?
I wish I knew that this before I bought this. This place was booming with life a few years ago.

New modules?

Category: General Discussions

I haven't been here for awhile. I modded a F12e with a 4 n 1 and it was stolen so I bought another F12e and I am wondering if there is anything newer than the 4 in 1 module that I should buy to install for deviation?

Thanks in advance. this is such a great project, I hope it's still going.

Hello everyone, Im an old new guy in here
I have had my 12s for a long time and blew up my rx1202. so now i am looking at upgrading the 12s for othr protocols. but dont know what exactly is needed. i have some tinkering experience in soldering. I tried a few times to install deviation on it also with no success, all i would get is slanted lines on the screen.
I would greatly appreciate some help on this as i do love this 12s nd at the time it wasnt cheap.
I am also on Facecrap under the screen name unstopabul. feel free to message me there too.
Thanks everyone
George Arneth. the one with the army patch. other one is inactive but am locked out of that one.

There's just a couple sentences about it in the User Manual in the CRSF section: "The CRSF protocol sends Crossfire protocol serial data on the transmitter’s trainer port (tip connector). The trainer port ring is ground. To enable telemetry the serial input must be tied to serial output. For the trainer port tie tip to ring1."

Easiest would be to make an adapter cable with a stereo (three-wire) plug to insert into the trainer jack on the devo 10. Tie the tip and ring1 together and connect to the CRSF pin on your ELRS module. The outside ring wire goes to the ground pin on the ELRS module.

Hello everyone.
I have a Devo 10 and I'm delighted with it.
I want to add an external ELRS module and I don't know which one to buy to add it.....
I also have a Jumper T Lite JP4in1, to play in simulator mainly and I would prefer to be able to share the module between both.
On the other hand, the subject of the connection to the module, is it documented somewhere?
