Devo 12e $75 for deviation fans was created by diy
Do you think Devo 12e will be compatible with Deviation, looks like a Devo 10 with 12 channels ? Walkera's Drone Center is selling it $75 free shipping in the US this month at
www.ucdrone.com

The development has been abandoned for quite some time and no one knows when it will be picked up again. There is a test build in the download section but no one knows how well it works and how far it is from completion. However $75 is very attractive even for parts.

Devo 12e FCC photos
are pretty clear. This is a Devo 10 on steroids, with basically additional switches. But apparently the video doesn't yet work with Deviation.
This is a great price.

No excuses, just bought one. Maybe we can make it work. If the photos are anywhere near accurate the basics are the same as a Devo 10. Previous attempts seemed to focus on the video. When it arrives I'll trace it out.

AFAIK it has no video, because it is a non "F" model, just a simple 12 ch DEVO 10 with plus 2 pots.

Sorry, I didn't mean video display, I meant the LCD display. The last notes I can find talk about PBs test build, but I can't see that it was ever working. Hardware-wise it seems nearly a clone of the 10. At the very least I can find port differences, and I should have no problem with making my own builds
It will be a stretch of my programming skills to track down the issues, but I think I'll give it a go.

Any update on the 12e compatibility? $75 for all those switches/pots is really tempting...

dont think anyone can be sure until someone actually has it.
But it just looks like a regular devo 10 with 2 extra pots like said previously, maybe it has slightly different firmware to use the full 12 channels.
Im pretty sure the 10 can use 12 channels with deviation firmware so if you added to extra pots youd essentially have the 12e. Infact i think someone metnioned the possibility that you could access 16 channels

I bought one, we'll see soon enough
Hardware wise it is a pure upgrade of Devo 10 - two extra POTs. At least on paper - what's in reality is hard to say without laying hands on it.

Sure, but I only have a USPS track number with undefined delivery date yet
So the deal can be off by the time I physically have it.

The order implied it was gonna take a slow boat, but mine shipped from Seattle. So about week via ground.

@robca, OK, I've got my Devo 12E today.
Basically, it works with Deviation. I've got PhracturedBlue's branch, modified it slightly and it works. I need to fix AUX channel order, fix make zip for it and it's ready.
I did not even disassemble it (I plan to), and despite the first start ended in hard fault (basically hangs and does not react on turn off switch) I managed to figure what's going on by looking at stack dump.

Since this sounds very promising, I just ordered one. The deal still works early on 12/3. Keep up the great work, and please make a zip available. Thanks!

Well done! and thanks so much for the quick turnaround. Hopefully we'll also soon see nightly builds for it...
Currently there's 0 stock in the Seattle warehouse, and will ship from China.. but still $75 and free shipping

I fixed the channel order and updated makefile to produce full zip with all the files. Don't know about nightlies - I don't have admin rights over the build system and am not sure I can turn on nightly build for another platform. But we'll devise something about it.

I submitted pull request for Devo 12E support, it should be merged as soon my learned colleagues approve it.
We'll see whether it appears in Nightly builds, it can be added there just by virtue of presence in test builds.
