frequency selection is working well.
But it always in flip mode, it will flip if i move right stick. I dont know how to disable it.
also I dont know how to assign channels in model.
attached is my model, please check and help me to configure it.
note: on plus version: leds can not be turned off and no bat telemetry

CHANNEL6 = Flip
CHANNEL7 = Snapshot
CHANNEL8 = Video recording
CHANNEL9 = Headless
vTX frequency selection should work.
Led light can't be switched off on those models ?

Looks like channel 6 (flip mode) is already assigned to FMODE1 switch in your .ini, but is reversed, so if the switch is on FMODE0 flips are enabled ...
There are not enough switches on an unmodified 7e to assign one switch per feature (that should be possible to use trim switches too, but I never remember how to do without checking the manual or my existing ini
).
To check other features, in your .ini, set num_channels to 9, replace "[channel5]" with the feature you want to test, eg "[channel7]" for snapshot then check if the feature is working with the HOLD switch.
Note that everything can be done from inside the radio GUI, you don't have to edit the .ini manually.
... or maybe a 7e expert can come with a better .ini

Is it possible to switch off the leds from stock transmitter ?
Hubsan's website states "Built-in LED will send out colorful light to give additional glamour", but I find red leds in front of video camera (H107C+/D+) are not very glamour
(edit: oh, looks like they can't be switched off.... hmmm we'll try something once we're sure everything else is ok...)
I updated protocol description as a reference.
... Once everything works properly I think I'll be able to remove the protocol format option and auto-detect if we're binding with a "Plus" or "Normal" aircraft
Also I may rewrite how frequency channel selection works, currently it just picks a random channel instead of using a7105 rssi & carrier detect features to find a free channel as the stock transmitter does... Statistically there's 1 chance on 12 that it will go bad if you fly with 2 deviated transmitters in the same area, or even 1 deviated + 1 stock

Wow, if I would have known you guys were making such good progress on this protocol I would have been a lot more careful with my 107C+ this afternoon. One would think that I would have learned my lesson from losing my first 107C many months ago but today was very nice sunny day and I decided to take some aerial video with the 107C+. Needless to say I could not see the LED's in the day and I lost orientation and it was gone. So pissed off. Oh well, not that I was using this quad much since I didn't particularly like the video quality or the stupid spring load on the throttle but the body was very nice and it was a very stable flyer. Anyway, from afar it looked like it was facing me but in reality it must have been going the other way as I gave the craft one last good boost of throttle to bring it closer but it was actually going the wrong way. I haven't been too lucky with finding lost quads. Did some searching but couldn't find it.
Would have loved to have been able to control it with the Devo.
I have a sort of off topic but related question. On the regular hubsan protocol can someone help me figure out which way I need to set my "no flip" channel? No matter how I set things up it seems like the Hubsan will always flip when I get too aggressive on the controls. I forget what channel flip control is. Lets say I assign a 2 way switch to it, what value does the switch need to give in order for the FLIP to be off? Is there a way to disable flip completely? Is it default to on or off? I've crashed too many Hubsans using my Devo because of the jackassary of a flip implementation by Hubsan.

I'm sorry for your loss
To disable flips with H107L/C/D you've to set Channel 6 to a low value.

I got mine working yesterday thanks for so much work Goebish
I am new to setting up models on the 7e. as theres only two switches I will have to figure out how to use the buttons as extra channels.
I also seem to be getting quite a lot of yaw movement with the stock trims. and trim does not fix it. anyone else having the same?
thanks

the quadcopter is yawing a lot to one side and trim does not seem to fix it. any idea what this cold be?
also the model.ini that bangkomet provided channel "hold" makes the quadcopter stop its motors. is this correct?

For yaw:
- make sure your sticks are calibrated
- use 1% trim steps instead of default 0.1%
For motor stop with hold switch using bangkomit's .ini, that's normal, HOLD is configured as a safety switch acting on channel 3 (throttle).
I think you'd better start from a fresh model, maybe it's time to read the manual

i am reading the manuals however i am struggling to find anywhere that shows how to add channels to the buttons of the 7e
the trims I have done fine so i added the camera trigger to the throttle trim. really i wont be using headless mode. would be nice to have access to the buttons though
ill have to do some digging

Ok here is my model file for hubsan x4 plus for the 7E
video record is set to hold switch
flip is set to Fmod
i personally dont use snapshot or headless.
if someone can help to add to the buttons that would be great, is that even possible? I dont see any documentation. Can add to the trim buttons easily but this is not my preferred method as i like to have trims
vtx frequency select works. there is no telemetry for battery or ability to turn off led

Goebish i dont know if this is a protocol thing or me not understanding deviation fully. to get the video recording to work correctly on the switches i had to reverse the min and max in the mixer.
otherwise when the aircraft booted up its leds would flash like it was recording... however it wasnt recording. then when i flip the recording switch the leds go solid but on board it is recording
I found the only way to get by that was to flip the min and max
reversing the switch did not work
thanks for the new version i will try out tonight
yes i will test headless and snapshot of course
cheers

That's probably because you've assigned the wrong switch source, eg HOLD0 instead of HOLD1.
You can check in channel monitor what your switch is doing to Channel 8 output.
I'm not too worried about video recording, I'm just not sure sure about snapshot, I think it should take a snapshot whenever channel 7 is toggled, but this has to be checked.
