Mission accomplished. Please try the test builds attached. Also please check for the shutdown music (remember this is off by default in deviation it has to be enabled via "Transmitter config->Power Down Alert").

@Moeder,

First tests are positif, all seems to work as expected.
For the shutdown sound, it does not work, but I think it is normal, as all my dfplayers are powerd from the transmitter.
Thanks for your work/developments.:woohoo:

@pulpfiction15:

Could you try the builds below for shutdown music? Also, did you make sure power down alert is activated in transmitter config? Please be aware that your TX could hang on shutdown...

@Moeder,

I do not notice any difference, no shutdown sound.
I can also confirm that in 'transmitter config' 'power-down alert' is set to 'on'.

One think I notice is that the 'welcome to deviation' is played at max volume, after that it's OK.

I do not mind to much, not having a shutdown message.

Ok, thanks for the test. I'll still leave it the way it is, as in different cases (concerning dfplayer power supply) this would probably the best way to code it. You are right....volume does not get set until after the first message is played. I'll fix that and make a pull request then.

Hey guys, I was thinking about embarking on this little project for my 7e but I just wanted to be clear that the current build does not include access to standard mixer GUI? That's fine as I use advanced but am I correct in understanding that I'll be unable to edit each individual model under the model menu? I'm a little confused as to what functionality I'll be losing.

Additionally, I have used the emulator to create custom layouts, will this cause a problem?

@yets

Correct, there is no standard mixer with the D7e voice alerts build.
There is no voice menu to select voice alerts with the D7e, voice alerts need to be manually added and saved to each model ini file using notepad++ . All other mixer functions are as before.
Not sure if voice is configurable in the emulator, I've never used it.
I don't think custom layouts will cause a problem.

Thanks Gerry, that's really helpful. I'm going to order some parts today to make an external box and maybe power it through the 2s balance lead on the Lipo with a step down converter. I haven't updated Deviation since March so these test builds should be quite up to date then?

Not sure if the voice files on the download page are up to date yet, I used the voice firmware for the 7e from this post.
www.deviationtx.com/forum/builds/5089-vo...uild?start=700#63351
also you will need the voice pack found here www.deviationtx.com/downloads-new/catego...-moeder-voice-alerts its the last one (assuming english)

The firmware build is a little outdated for 7e (although just some minor things), I'll try to post an updated build soon, as well as the emulator which has the voice config menu (same as with the layout editor which is only available in the emulator).

@Moeder,

I downloded this morning build; 806bd1b.

Only on the devo12S I have a 'double' welcome message. on the Devo6 I hear it only ones.
Volume of the welcome message is still at maximum.

Edit: figured out that I have the double welcome wih a model with protocol 'FrskyX'

Volume is probably due to the player not ready for volume commands (same issue as with welcome message), this will be a quick fix.

I'll check the double welcome message on FrSkyX as well...

That would be helpful. I'e been using a nightly dated back from March (6328?). So anything more as up to date that would be great for me. Thanks, looking forward to trying it, just waiting the long game for parts to arrive now!

@moeder,

I went out flying today, ... about the double welcome message, maybe it is not the protocol issue, I switched to other models with FrskX, and got a single welcome message.

@pulpfiction15: thanks for your testing experience. Please try the build attached concerning startup message volume on your devo12.

@devo7e-users: Please find attached a devo7e build with voice enabled at the cost of loosing standard mixer GUI. Voice menu is only available in the emulator, which you can also find attached.

@Moeder

First, welcome message volume is correct, thanks.

About the double welcome message on some models, I made some more tests.
It happens with the model here attached.
It is due to Virt3 channel, I think it wants to play the message from the mux at startup, but why two times the welcome message ?

Thank you of posting the model.ini and identifying the problem. It was caused by the mux voice playing triggering before the delayed startup sound had played. I made a pull request which forces the startup sound to reset the voice queue, but this actually means your mux voice will not play on deviation startup (it will still play when switching into a model using mux voice). I hope you can live with that for now. My brain doesn't want to come up with a more complex solution tonight ;)
