If you have USB logo on screen, you need format the transmitter USB drive and copy the filesystem from firmware archive.

Thanks for the information, Vlad!!!

This may help you:

www.deviationtx.com/forum/7-development/...board?start=40#59713

Possibly with a very thin needle and magnifying glass you may be able to probe direct to the cpu.

To clarify:
your TX runs fine, just no USB connection, no drive, no bootloader. Than to me it is the usb line/port itself, assuming you get the bootloader in your display if buttonpress and start tx.

This is very good blog and used the procedure for my both U7E, it should work for your Jumper ?

silpstream.com/103/ultimate7e-flashing-the-bootloader/

However if the Tx had been operational before, I would highly doubt it is possible to damage the bootloader. (I have never seen it happen or seen reports that it happened)

Is there nothing wrong with your buttons etc? Or possibly just with the usb lines wiring to the mcu? You could try to probe it for continuity.

Hello from Bulgaria! I have the cc2500 module and nrf, also did the range mod. 2 3way switches..and recently I saw the Ultimate 7e. Now I have been reading all that I found and I bought the chip. Just want to be sure, that I undarstand everything, correct. First I should solder the chip, then I must do the bootloader with stlink, and the last part isn't very clear to me. Should I use docker or I can just load, for example [HappyHarry]Ultimate7e Deviation5.0.0-cca3757 3rd December (4), from test builds section? Regards :)

Hi again,

I bought the STLINK, I understand I need to hook it up to the programming pins in the T8SG and use devo7ebootloader_256.bin?
Can someone please help me and give more details?
Thanks

Open the software and then connect your radio to your PC using the USB cable. Then just touch the power button for a fraction of a second literally. You should get a USB symbol on the screen. The program should detect the radio as a devo 7E. If so then use the program to upload the latest nightly build for the T8SG V2 Plus.

I will try this despite the fact that usb seems to not be recognised by windows

Even if you don't get the USB symbol see if the program sees the radio. If so still try the software upgrade.

no usb detected at all . As you can see (from the video) it seems like the cpu tries to boot -maybe I can try to load bootloader+code through stm32 programming pins (?) maybe? but i cannot find a way.

I will try to check if usb port circuit is connected to cpu (STM32F103). I hope cpu doeas not wait to detect rf module or lcd -in order to boot- as these are diconnected from the pcb.

If you read other links you will see at least one other person who connected 3s lipo also fried rf module. If you fried reg and mcu (STM32) there is every chance you also fried rf module, flash memory maybe touch screen controller and other parts.

I sure hope you didn't and changing out reg fixes it.

FWIW I do have ST-Link programmer for installing bootloader, and can upgrade to Deviation etc.

Problem with Jumper T8SG 2.0 Plus

Hi again,

I exchanged some emails with Jumper support.
Last resort would be to change the MCU but before that they do suggest using STLINK.
They unfortunately just dropped some fancy words like STLINK BOOTLOADER telling me they cannot help any further and I should check on the internet...nice....

Can someone please direct me to some info I could use. I just need to know what to buy and how to use it. I guess I need to hook the STLINK module to the usb port of the Jumper in order to reload some piece of software? Do I need this piece of software from Jumper (I asked them they did not answer).

Thanks a lot
Eric

Hi, I attempted to join the 256k crew after following the comprehensive write up on slipstream.com. Everything looked to go well apart from a slightly lifted pad which was dealt with. However, after updating the bootloader and firmware, the ENT, UP and Down button fail to work. I've checked hardware, all seems working, tried multiple FWs after erasing chip. No shorts, no shorts when powering on for the first time. Is there anything else I can look at before trying another chip?

Bootloaders are available under the Downloads link in the left column. For the T8SG use the 7E-256 bootloader.

Unfortunately the USB appears to be dead, so I can't connect to flash a new firmware. I get nothing in ENT or EXT mode. No USB devices on the computer.
I'm prepared to flash a new bootloader with my STLink programmer if I had the file.

Frsky Acces and TanDem receivers

Category: Protocol Development

Frsky uses there own bootloaders, there are some rumours that flashing it is an irreversible process, once flashed you cannot back flash and have to use Access.

Which to me seems to be on purpose, as it is a way to sell more receivers.

Frsky uses the open source community who developed there Tx software, but does not like to see more manufacturars of hardware for this open software...…..
Let the community buy and choose the right transmitter or receiver there choice.
Even the protocol could be open! If price/quality is good sure we will support Frsky, I like there receivers!

Dfuse read transmitter ID from bootloader, so probably you have bootloader intact. But, Deviation download program also read transmitter ID from bootloader.

You can check if EXT button is always connected (pressed). In that case you will always boot to DFU mode.

Help! T8SG locked on black screen. What to do???

Category: General Discussions

Hi Vlad

I downloaded Dfuse 2.31. It also writes the dfu file to my transmitter. But its still stuck in dfu mode.
If I click Leave DFU Mode, it turns off the transmitter. But when I turn it on I'm still in dfu mode.
Also, at the bottom it says its a Devo-7E transmitter.

I read about reflashing the bootloader, but I think that is beyond my abilities.

Thanks
Jack

I'm not sure about Dfuse v3.0.5, for Devo transmitters (and clones) you can use latest version v2.31. I think you can damage transmitter bootloader. If so, look at forum how to flash "bootloader". You will need to flash "devo7e-256" bootloader.

looks like bootloader has the limited support for different flash type. But we don't have source code for bootloader to confirm this. Can u explain what are u trying to do here?
