IRangeX iRX-IR8M software issue

Category: Feedback & Questions

I'm always backup my model files and other Tx settings on a regular basis, just to be sure I could recover them at any moment.

You were right! Formatting the drive did the trick! Lost all my models but if that's the worst of it I'm happy!

Thank you so much!

My transmitter has a problem with the throttle gimbal, it will not return to zero. Banggood has acknowledged the problem and has stopped shipping the units. They said the next batch will fix the issue. I requested a new transmitter since there are clearly quality problems with the first batch shipped. They said no and instead shipped me a replacement gimbal. Not happy with that response since there are clearly other quality issues beside the gimbal. They have also stopped allowing customers to post anything on their site for this item. Very disappointed especially since I have bought hundreds of items over the past 5 years from them. I would advise anyone thinking about purchasing this transmitter to look for something else instead or wait for this issues to be completely resolved before buying it.

You can fix power Off/On problem by changing capacitor:

You can get normal shoulder switches "G" and "H" (initially they connected to AUX knobs and havn't names) by simple mod:

Yes, will be better to flash latest firmware.

Thanks vlad_vy.
Not sure about soldering, at the moment, though.:)

Most likely transmitter filesystem damaged. You need format transmitter USB drive and copy filesystem from firmware archive. Use "Safely Remove Hardware" after writing filesystem.

Category: Feedback & Questions

Hello,
I"m hoping someone can help me.
I've had this radio about a month and everything was working fine. Now when I try to turn it on all I get is a USB icon on the main screen. It wont load the deviation software. I'm no programmer and have limited knowledge of this software. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
Things I've tried:
-Changing the batteries
-Leaving the batteries out all night hoping to reset something.
-Connecting it to windows 10( It sees it as a usb drive but then wont open anything)
-I've attempted to download dfuse and drivers for my computer but id didnt seem to work.
Is there a user program I need first?
Here is a link to a video if it helps.

I just received one of the white iRangeX iRX-IR8m.
Switches B and A are three 3- position and C , D and side switches are toggle.
Not Ideal because I am used to Devo 8S and usually my models have the flight mode on the side switch which is three positions.

Maybe I can exchange places of switches and change some of the toggle switches to 3-position switches. The idea is that when I copy my models from the Devo 8S all the switches will be in the same place.

I encountered the same problem that other people have mentioned here. When I power off I have to wait some time before it can be powered on.

Do you recommend to change the firmware?

* RUD and AIL reversed to comply with common direction for Deviation.
* AUX4 and AUX5 reversed to comply with common direction for Deviation.
* All switches reversed to comply with common direction for Deviation.
* batt_critical set to 3900 since iRX-IR8M can use 4xAA battery.
* LCD Internal Resistor Rate (Rb/Ra) set to 4 (0x24).
* Add support for 6 independent trims set.

Changes:
* Disable 4IN1_FLASH support, since it has not sense for transmitter with integrated 4in1 module.

Great! especially 6 flight modes!!! :)

OliverST wrote: Does anyone fly a tiny6 with the small frsky Receiver which can be chosen when ordering the tiny6?
I have a lot of problems with the range, maximum isabout 30 meters and then the tiny falls from the sky. 150mW and tried freq-fine from 10 to 70 but this helps only a little bit.
Has anyone an idea how to fix this range Problem???

i would also like to fly a bigger drone (diatone gt200s) but not with this range porblems :-(

Hello

I also had the same problems as you!

Unfortunately you have received a defective RX module.
Swap the remote control. I got a new one from Bangood.

The works without problems!

The reason can be outside RF module. If you have good range with only one RF chip (probably A7105), then your problem most likely located outside RF module. The way from RF chip to PA/LNA chip switched by external signals (PE1 and PE2, pin 3 and 4 of RF module). I think PE1 and PE2 encoder chip located on back side of mainboard.

None of your club guys owns a simple RF spectrum analyzer?
Easiest way to check your gear.
Thirdmost important thing a serious hobby fellow should buy after a decent TX (NOT counting the iRange as that!) and a good charger imho.

edit: even no access to a RF power meter?

2nd edit:
I could check it for you, but then you won't get a chance for a replacement.
