Jumper T8SG - First TX stock running on Deviation

Looks like they updated the price of T8SG 2.0 on BG to $139, and added some real photos. USB port is accessible on top, it will not get in the way when connected to the PC - I like it!
I'm curious if the gimbals are worth the upgrade from standard... Did any of you get a chance to play with preproduction samples?

Even the price is higher at BG, please think twice if you buy from geekbuying.com. They don't honor their product if there is anything wrong, even DOA like BG or Gearbest do. Stay away from Geekbuying.com. i made a big mistake because of a coupon code from youtude saving few bucks for the Jumper first gen.

Can we assume that the instructions will actually apply to the transmitter and not just Deviation?

Will a Crossfire micro module work with the new Jumper T8SG Plus? It apparently has a bay for it, but I'm not sure what protocol I'd choose within Deviation.

I read of someones pre-order of the new FrSky Tx being canceled by Gearbest a couple of days ago,
So hopefully it's just Gearbest changing their pre-order policy.

Either way though, it's not too cool to just cancel your order with no info..

I assume it's cheaper to use just one shell for all.
But the premium appearance of the casing of the original one was really nice.

The v1 controller is replaced by the v2 controller at bang good. The v2 isn't a new article, it's the update of the original v1 product page, so it won't come back.

Maybe time to open a new thread for the V2 ? and V2 plus ?

I don't really understand why they moved from a good looking futaba copy to a cheap plastic looking copy of the soon to be replaced taranis 9 transmitter and didn't stay with the original design, or at least moved to the design of the new taranis 7s or horus 10s.
But maybe it's just my view.

Ah Wow !! How are the gimbals, can you check the settling, do the get back to zero ? How is the resolution and precision over the travel, are they accurate, and linear?

Ah especially voice ready and hall gimbal, It may be the tx to replace my devo 7e.
Can you confirm it is possible to use single liion cell and charge over USB? (I have mod my 7e and like it so much, it is perfect, charge it anyware from USB is great.)

Sorry to bother you again vlad, but I've just calculated the screw distance of the gimbals on your photo, and it seems to be the same 35mm as the original gimbals had ?
Can you confirm this or have I estimated the wrong distance of the connector pins?

Seems like it uses switching DC-DC regulator instead of cascaded LDOs, that explains 4.5V minimum input voltage.
Do you know which speaker could fit the mounting bracket?
P42 is uart TX, right? Shame the RX line is not connected (pin 5)...

Looking forward to more details on hall gimbals.

Does the module bay support serial connections?

There is a topic here on serial out request for external modules, I believe technical should be feasible, but someone has to write add the code, is not yet inside.

Jumper got some problems when they tested hall gimbals on DEVO TX, it will take some more time to solve this.
