The Deviation Firmware is not legal in any Country if you use it to exceed local regulations. It allows you to exceed both FCC and CE Transmit power levels.

You just have to be responsible and not program the TX to exceed your local regulations and you are then fine.

This may be a silly question and someone may have answered it. Is it possible to piggy-back a second regulator in parallel with the existing Devo 7e voltage regulator. I believe this works and it would be a whole lot simpler than most of the other options. I have modded two 7e's and cannot get them to work with two modules added. They are fine with one.

adding a second vreg for the 3in1 or separate modules is an easy option, have a look here >> www.deviationtx.com/forum/7-development/...dule?start=780#52623 the 4in1 takes battery voltage so doesn't require this

Surely an even simpler solution would be to replace the existing regulator with a higher rated one?

Finally received my 4n1 i ordered on 12-30-2016 today even tho i paid extra for shipping it still took it long enough to get here and soon after i ordered it they stocked them in the US warehouse..Figures lol

Got a couple questions on the installation, does it matter which module hooks to what? Like should the NRF hook to the TMS or TCK ect..
I am installing into my 12s so i plan on using the B3 pad for one of the hook ups...

Also is the TMS =A13 and TCK=A14 ? or is it other way ? i can't remember...

Thanks all..

It doesn't really matter which radio goes to which connector as long as you match them in the Hardware.ini. I have A13 = TMS and A14 = TCK. I chose my connections by how I wanted to route my cable :silly:

Deviation Devo7e 3way switch mod, A7105, NRF24L01
Devo6s 2x2 switch mod, trim mod, haptic, multimodule, A7105, NRF24L01, CC2500
Devo12e 4-in-1 with voice mod -- it speaks!!

Well this not going well ..I installed the module got everything correctly hooked up and now i can't edit the hardware.ini file it says the drive is corrupt and it wont let me copy the file or replace it with the edited one i need to enable the modules...i get the missing module when i power up the 12s ...I don't understand why things just wont work sometimes when you follow the installation exactly

EDIT: Think i got it working I selected the drive in Windows and repaired it then it let me copy the edited hardware file to the tx..Seems to be working now but need to test out on some rx's to be sure....

Speaking of editing hardware.ini, I just ran into a snag from using the default Windows Notepad. I followed a youtube video to install the 4in1 into my Devo 10. It would bind to all my models, however, only the models that used cyrf6936 would allow me to adjust transmitter power. The other 3 modules would be stuck on "default".
I used Notepad++ to edit a fresh hardware.ini file and everything works as it should. This is mentioned here in this thread a ways back, but I searched quite a while to find it. Hopefully If I repeat it here, I can save someone a little time and frustration.
Good luck everyone!

 Use NOTEPAD++ to edit!

A range test of the 4in1 from BG attached to the multiprotcol module from midelic & pascallanger. Any comparable tests for the Devo_line modules?

as the actual rf module and protocols are the same then the results should be the same regardless of which daughterboard is used with the 4in1 (bar antenna and environmental issues of course) )

I have to agree as long as the power level is 20dbm, range should be fine.

What I am more interested to know:
Is the output for all 4 chips correct anybody measured output levels?
Is the telemetry for all 4 chips, correct so preamp operational for all 4 chips and have telemetry received at 1.5km for all the 4 chips?
I the LNA PA switched correctly switched and only one module active at a time ?
Is the power consumption of a 4 in1 module correct so comaparable to 4 separate modules?

Anybody who can confirm those questions?

I just purchased a Devo 10. I have this 3 in 1
www.banggood.com/CC2500-NRF24L01-A7105-M...4.html?rmmds=myorder
I was planning on installing it. I noticed a new 4 in 1 though on banggood. This one:
www.banggood.com/CC2500-NRF24L01-A7105-C...7.html?rmmds=myorder

After reading through, i saw that the older 4 in 1 has poor range compared to the 3 in 1. Has that changed with the new modules?
Also, is there a newer guide i should be following for the new 3 in 1 and 4 in 1?

I added a 4in1 module to my 7e.
After some mistakes the cyrf... module works.
I can bind to my super cp.
But at startup i get a "missing module" meesage.
None of the other modules work.
I've triple checked the wiring and weldings...
I use a nighly build from 31.01.17...
I need some hints please:blink:
(Ignore the yellow and white cables on the right...please don't ask:blush: )

Have you made the appropriate changes to the hardware.ini file using a Unix compliant text editor?

Sounds perfect.
And can you confirm that those changes exist in the file that resides on the Devo?
I ask these questions because what you describe points to these issues rather than hardware
<Edit> Oh, one more thing...
Check all of the protocols on the radio to verify that there are * (asterisks) at the beginning of the protocol names. If there are no asterisks, try cycling the power on the radio and watch for missing module messages again.

Yes, i can confirm the existence on devo because i have changed them more than once....
All other protocols that don't depend on the Cyrf... have an asterisk in front.
When i change the settings, exchanging A13 and A14, then the error shows the other module...

Perhaps trying another nightly???

Hello,
I am using this 3 in 1 module from Bangood for more than 6 month now in my devo 8S.
www.banggood.com/CC2500-NRF24L01-A7105-M...04.html?rmmds=search

could I flash an update version in my module ?
using the code from here
github.com/pascallanger/DIY-Multiprotocol-TX-Module

For the configuration on a devo 8S
- is it PPM or Serial ?
- if I want to use the telemetry (frsky protocol) what are the options to set in the _config.h for the Devo ?

Thanks

3in1 module has not MCU and memory, it managed by transmitter over SPI bus. For updates you need flash latest firmware to your transmitter (Devo8). What Deviation version do you use?
