I will make some tests...

As per my tests the question of a non-installed module does not matter for the crash itself. If the stick is already in safe position when loading a new model the crash will not happen because the focus is set correctly on the 'Load' button again. Even if you press ENT on the message box the focus has been set to the correct button. As per my understanding there should be some addition or reordering to the "safety alert function".

Yes, I think you are close. It happens only when the dialog appears and is not closed with the ENT button (this is a dialog related function). It has nothing to to with the dialog itself.
There are some protocol related functions which test if the safety conditions are fulfilled. This is where I am searching actually.

It happens with every protocol, even Devo.

Oh, no,HiSky not included. The next will be only bugfixing; maybe later.

It happens also in the latest nightly build from PB, so not my fault ;)
But this means I have to look still deeper...

EDIT: it even happens in 3.0.0. That's really deep...

Heureca!

There was no selected gui object when the safety dialog was closed because the conditions (throttle input) have changed (other than pressing ENT). Setting the (stored) object as selected helps.

I create new versions (beta-13)

I don't see what you mean. The value is stored for every unit (hour, minute, second) and re-displayed when the unit is re-selected. I haven't seen any misbehavior.

Those two lines right of the new time are artifacts from drawing other numbers. I'll try to avoid this, but I am not sure if this is what you meant.

Ok, I have checked in some changes in my repo to address your issues (artifacts, gap for translations, other fonts to enable translations), but no new betas now.

One more artifact, 'Control' -> 'Switch'. With russian language it's even more expressed ('Управление' -> 'Перекл.').

kreidler wrote: Steps for crash:

  1. Copy the attached model to your fs. and/or rename it if necessary
  2. Have any model loaded.
  3. Have all sticks in middle position.
  4. Load the hubsan.
  5. Message box appear that 'safe value = -100%'.
  6. Do not press ENT. Move the stick back only!!
  7. No focus on 'Load' anymore.
  8. Press EXT to get back into 'Model menu' and press ENT afterwards.
  9. Few seconds long 'Model Setup' only will be displayed. Crash follows.
If you just press once 'DN' after point 6 focus is set to "Load" and no crash will happen.

Yup tested this, with my Hubsan model, crash and reboot.

It happens with any model I have if stick is not completely down when safety alert is showing, and I put it down.

No reboot when ENT is pressed to interrupt bind/reconnect like you said.

Very nice troubleshooting kreidler, thank you.

I did think I was becoming fool :D

EDIT: And thx Rbe to have corrected this I'll upload beta13 and test.

EDIT2: I think you nailed it Rbe, tried several times no reboot, appreciate your time and effort :)

And yes, bug goes way long, devo7e-v3.0.0-ddf6350 also reboots same steps.

Although the last fixes were only small ones I have a new beta-14. I have seen that there were not too much downloads so it makes sense to make the known-bugs-fixed version available for testing.

@WheresWaldo,
where can I find the screenshots for Devo12 you are working with? There were some changes and it would be easy to see which pages have changed without the need to move though all...

Sorry I know I missed this somewhere in this thread, but I just built beta14 and put my model config in. Gui is all messed up. Was there something that needs to happen to convert the model file?

(devo12)

thanks

What do you mean on "messed up"?
It should show the default layout, you have to recreate your previous page manually...

If your models are based on 3.0.0 the gui has changed totally (including the representation in the model config files), but you should see a default gui (only if you have a layout folder in your usb filesystem with default.ini inside - this is also new).
If your models are based on the nightlies there should not be any visible changes on the main page.

Something wrong with Devo12 beta14? It looks like screen terrifically out of focus.
Devo12 beta13 and beta 12 = the same issue.
Devo12 beta11 = OK.

With corrected "src/screen/320x240x16/lcd_screen.c" (LCD_WIDTH) -> (LCD_WIDTH-1) all looks fine.
void LCD_Clear(unsigned int color){
        uint16_t zeile, spalte;
        LCD_DrawStart(0, 0, (LCD_WIDTH-1), (LCD_HEIGHT-1), DRAW_NWSE);
        for(zeile = 0; zeile < LCD_HEIGHT; zeile++){
                for(spalte = 0; spalte < LCD_WIDTH; spalte++){
                        LCD_DrawPixel(color);
                }
        }
        LCD_DrawStop();

        return;
}
